Apparently so, because bubbles can be seen throughout the whole glass with fizzy drinks, not just at the top.

And you still haven't explained the residue left once the glass was empty. You know, the bits of fish eye that were too thick to go down with the rest of it?

Coke isn't opaque.

So what are those things we see at the top?

Bear in mind, the picture is a blow up of a limited resolution TV frame. The smaller bubbles throughout the glass would not be resolved.
