Yeah, that's possible, a lot of older women have hair loss issues also and they do tend to wear more hats...

But legitimately, that is a style and a color that would fit in perfectly here... only missing the pleather case to go with her smart phone with the same beading... maybe an Indian charm to reflect her clear Cherokee native privilege... (American joke... everyone European here is Cherokee somehow)...
