I didn't really think that a bottle that could pottentially only be used once, will last for 1000's of years.
Simple, re-use your bottle over and over its cheaper plus you dont need to keep buying them
I agree. You made a goo point chewy!

Bad example to compare it to.

Dropping a chocolate bar wrapper v murdering someone
A £50 fine (here) v life imprisonment

No contest really ...
I wasn't comparing the act just the logic behind what Callum was saying, meaning free will gave you a license to do whatever you please.

Littering is inconsiderate, rude and lazy. There's nothing more to say on the subject really. I was bought up better than to drop rubbish wherever I please.

Wrong. Yes, the bottles can be reused but some people have to keep on buying bottled water anyway. If you do that then recycling is the best option.

Of course you can recycle after you have finished with the bottle, as chewy said.

Right, this far into the argument there is something I haven't said yet because it looks like I am very pro-litter.

I'm actually against it and I don't like doing it. Where I can, I will keep hold of something until a bin but there are times when I can't e.g. the hands full scenario or something which happened to me about a fortnight ago which is walking for half an hour with an empty, freezing McDonalds milkshake carton in sub zero temperatures.

I don't think people should be encouraged to litter. People should just bin things. Its actually more convenient than just dropping it, and not just for yourself. But I think in some instances it is OK, especially if there are a lot of street cleaners about like there are here.

Recycle, yes. Reuse, probably not. We buy about 5 or 6 2 litre bottles in a week. We aren't going to keep all of those bottles and use them all again.

I won't intentionally, and I didn't before this anyway. Just if its more convenient to drop it than it is to find a bin. But usually its the other way around.
