I guess I'll have to agree to disagree with Stu over Stewart Lee. There's something really effortless about his shows I really love. He is probably my favourite comedian next to Paul Merton.

I'll be honest though and say I'm generally not crazy about stand-up comedians. The genuinely good ones are few and far between. Some of my most hated are Jimmy Carr, Bernard Manning, Roy Walker, Jim Davidson, Al Murray and Eddie Izzard.

As for Hicks, well I admire him. Like him? I'm not so sure.

And Hicks wasn't?

He clearly stole his material in my opinion. He was definately heavily influenced by it, and added very little of his own nuances to it. Hicks was far better at it.
