TBH the whole Leave campaign was built on a staggering sense of naivety and wishful thinking.

We're still going to pay the same amount of money out as part of trade deals, immigration will not change and opting to leave has already adversely affected our economy. We aren't suddenly going to put millions into public services. we aren't guaranteed to succeed and we can't look to Norway as inspiration due to dramatically different circumstances. We'll still dance to the EU's tune except now we won't have ANY say in it if we want to trade with them.

Pretty much every financial expert in the world that matters both neutral and otherwise said it was a bad idea to leave. Even countries that would benefit from us leaving didn't want us to. It should have set alarm bells ringing in all honesty.

Honestly DC kicked himself in the foot by not lowering the voting age for this referendum

Actually although it grieves me to say this, Nigel Farage has fought long and hard to bring this referendum into being.
It was pressure from him and his leadership of UKIP that forced the govt to offer this vote.
No doubt about that.

I do not know about a general election but I do feel really, that a fresh mandate as to selecting who should be negotiating a deal now as to leaving needs to be looked at.
Firstly at the very least it should be an all party negotiating team as there could even be a general election held before the deal is even concluded.

For me too, because of his determination in bringing this about, Farage should along with his party, have a say as to such negotiations too.

I agree with Pete too, the 16 and 17 year olds should have had a vote on this and also it should have had a lock as to majority to make the vote binding on the govt.
That is history now however, the pro EU side of the govt failed to grasp the mood of England and indeed Wales too.

If only ALL the losing 'Remainers' were as decent and gracious as you Joey. I know we have often been at loggerheads on here, but I do GENUINELY like and respect you.

Thank you.

..I can't say that I'm feeling the same as the Brexiters this morning and I don't think congratulations is appropriate as such because this was never an individual/personal thing or a win/lose type thing...all I can say as that what all Brexiters are feeling this morning..?../I hope with all of my heart that it's a feeling that we'll all have and have reason to have with this decision both in the coming and far future...

I know it's scary Ammi and like all divorces there are going to be some bumpy moments but it really will be OK. There are many countries in the world who get along fine without being part of the EU. We will too. I understand how you feel because last night before the first result was in they were already talking a remain win and I felt so crushed and disappointed. I get that is pretty much how those who wanted to remain feel today. But we can do this!

...I guess that I'm thinking more of the children of divorces, Jaxie and the damage to them...but I want so much to be wrong in my concerns...one thing for sure though, the divorce can only work if both parents only have those children's interests at heart before their own and their own feelings...so whatever our feelings today and whatever our political opinions etc...we are one now/all of us.. because if we are not, then I really do feel a very bleak future....

perfect way to word what I think all remain voters are worried about

However I can't see the country uniting after this Scotland will be gone by 2020 and Norther Ireland could follow

I hope the pound does settle (what with the type of businessI work in)

But yeah we left it to a vote and this is what the majority has decided, so I don't have much else to say really... Democracy and all that

Instead of blaming the oldies who actually bother to vote maybe the blame should be placed on the apathetic young people? Nothing wrong with exercising a democratic right
