He's ended up signing for us today

Stevenage Borough have today completed a double signing. Striker Tony Thorpe joins from Colchester and winger Craig Dobson joins from Cambridge City.

Both join Boro on 2 year contracts after impressing manager Mark Stimson this week. Former Luton man Thorpe, 32 was the subject of a £1m move to Bristol City and an £800,000 move to Fulham. He has been a prolific scorer in the Football League, scoring 137 times in 288 appearances and brings a weath of experience to Boro.

Craig Dobson is a 22 year old pacy right sided winger who won the Nike UK Free Skills competition 5 years ago and has played his recent football at Lewes and Cambridge City after appearing briefly for Barnet. Boro agreed a small 4 figure fee with Cambridge City for his transfer.

Yeah that doesn't suprise me Dan, our manager said in an interview he won't be signing him, unless our current winger (Matty Jarvis) leaves then unfortunately he would probably have started as sub most games for us.

He's meant to have improved a great deal since he got released by Crystal Palace.I am looking forward to him making his debut on saturday. We've got a lad on trial who was at Gills a few years ago Mike, he's called Dean Bradshaw, not sure if you remember him, don't think he played a great deal.

That's strange, on the official website it said 0-0, maybe I looked at the wrong result or something.
4-0 sounds more like it, but don't mark my words - Plymouth can sometimes play dreadful football and othertimes be amazing.
Mike I felt so sorry for Gillingham a couple seasons back when you were relegated by one goal! I would hate that to happen to Plymouth.

Juventus to Serie B and start with -30 points

Lazio to Serie B and start with -7 points

Fiorentina to Serie B and start with -12 points

Milan stay in Serie A and start with - 15 points

Roma, Chievo and Palermo likely to be promoted into Champions League

Not sure what 3 sides will replace the 3 relegated. Possibly the 3 sides who actually were relegated originally (Lecce, Messina and Treviso)

Glad they were heavily punished.I thought they might get away with less.it's potentially better for English clubs in the champions league with AC Milan and Juve not a part of it.

I was thinking there that Juventus might struggle to avoid relegation again with a -30 points fine, but it appears they play 42 games in Serie B so they should avoid the drop again, assuming they keep a good team.

Makes me wonder what football would be like with handicapping?

We Lost 2-1 to Luton.

1st half we went a goal down after a few mins, header by Brkovic, defending was a bit sloppy. From then on we played really well, knocked the ball out and created some good chances.Dale Binns looked **** hot, took on 4/5 Luton players before his shot was blocked and went out for a corner.Boyd,Stamp and Kitchen looked sharp.Luton got a goal just before half time, really against the run of play but a good strike from Chris Coyne.

Second half we kept Bulman,Stamp,Miller and Binns on for about 15-20 mins Hatton, Nurse,Thorpe and Lewis replaced them.It was fairly even second half.Dobson did well down the right.Nurse crossed for Thorpe to head in.

Overall I think we pretty much matched them.

Stevenage Borough have awarded a 2 year contract to 18 year old striker Hector Mackie. The young forward trialled at West Brom, Reading and Spurs last year.

Manager Mark Stimson has been following his development closely for 2 years and feels the youngster has done enough in the last 4 weeks of trials to earn a professional contract.

A club spokesperson said "Mark is well known for giving young players an opportunity. Hector has pace, strength and determination and is keen to carve out a career as a professional footballer"

Well that's the 20th member of the squad now, done well in both pre-season game's so happy with the signing.Only 3 players needed now imo.
