Its immense isnt it. Comercially its doing brilliantly too which is a bonus because I wasnt sure it would have a mass appeal with the lyrical content fortunately people actually got the song and didnt shout Homophobia without any substantial reason.

..I'm going to google the full lyrics because I didn't catch them all but the impact of that track is really quite something, it's good from the start but half way through, it kind of hits you with a sledgehammer and like Caitlin said, I don't usually get that much from hip hop...although I have a few times but it's usually been with Kanye....but hip hop and Eminem is about lyrics though isn't it and always a really deep and profound 'message'...

Lol Caitlin I know haha

Yeah its really quite something considering his last 3 albums I didnt think he'd release something as technical and shocking as this....the bigger picture which most people wont get is its a song referencing time in his life.... the line about Clinton, the Columbine massacre etc. Its all about a previous time and hes trying to make a point...not exactly sure what that is yet without the rest of the album but its thought provoking.

yeah it's almost as if it's pointless controversy no I'm sorry, I'm not buying the "he's a constructed character, it's OK!" crap when it comes to any rapper dropping homophobia. It does nothing to help. More than a fair share of Eminem fans aren't really the "oh he's using a metaphor! how avant garde" type.

I understand that and I get it. Im kind of more shocked that people are shocked by this. Been reading quite a few sites and critics seem to be in uproar. I dont get it though hes been doing it for twenty years. Not condoning it either like.

On a sidenote it has 1500 words and he raps at 4 words per second

Words are powerful but without homophobic intent - and in a fucking rap - the term should be viewed as the flow fitting slang it was intended as. America has taken back the term anyway. I can buy thinking it is needless and juvenile but some substance devoid, offend happy B.S. from an equality champion dullard like Apple just grates.
