[UK will be first ‘to go from pandemic
to epidemic’, says Zahawi

Vaccines mean another lockdown
is unlikely, says Zahawi

Britain will be the first big country to
use vaccines to end the pandemic,
a minister predicted this morning
as the government insists fresh restrictions are not needed.
Nadhim Zahawi, the education secretary,
said he was not complacent but argued that the
government’s plan was working and it had
been right to open up and allow
high infections throughout the summer.]

Netherlands todays numbers

24.590 new cases

1.644 total hospitalisations, 147 new hospitalisations (day before 151 new patients in hospital, decrease of 4 in one day as for new patients)

459 total on ICU's/ventilators, 13 new ICU patients (day before 28 new, so a decrease of 15 in one day as for new patients)

39 new deaths

most of ICU's is now still from delta variant, but that one is slowly fading away by the day and omicron taking over more and more so RIVM expects ICU numbers to go down more, but does not rule out for hospitalisations to remain higher than we want them to

Default Coronavirus Outbreak

Sky’s Beth was rather unprofessional earlier ( again) as she was smiling when reporting that Starmer had tested positive for Covid

I recall one of her older , grey haired , male colleagues smiling as he reported Boris had Covid last year .. a short while later he was in intensive care

Sadly no ... these media people on telly clearly don’t care about the health of other people .. I don’t care for Starmer as a politician ( I don’t like politicians lol ) but I certainly care for his well being

Politicians are just sooooo predictable !

In response to being told that his boss, Starmer was positive again and was self isolating for the 6th time ... Stephen Morgan ( Labour MP) immediately had a go at Boris for being careless then said that Starmer followed the Covid rules rigidly !

6 isolations kinda suggests the opposite, surely ?

Live In Parliament
a Labour MP told the PM
Covid Tests kits locked up in a Warehouse.

If that is true
it should be on a Front Page.

Here's a nice and currently reassuring graph, for anyone who is doubting the effectiveness of vaccines in preventing deaths. You can see quite clearly the dramatic difference between the pre-vaccine situation and now. I find it quite interesting that deaths still seem to be trending DOWNWARDS despite the staggering upturn in case numbers. Hopefully it won't be a different picture in a few weeks. If this wave peaks and comes back down with no major bumps on that red line... we'll have a pretty solid answer.

i think the covid deaths are predominantly legacy delta cases. I think it is a very real possibility that by the early summer we could be down to single figure or zero deaths. Maybe even sooner

Johnson kept saying in Parliament
Plan B to end on the 26th of Jan.

But he said before in Downing St.
depending on the numbers of infections.
