going right of emmerdale lately. the whole hiv storyline and val and eric is so unrealistic and so stupid. why and how is she suddenly shagging around. i mean has anybody looked at her. who writes this stuff. and the donna storyline why give more depression. and the kid killer that ruined her character. shame it was other only realable soap but its gone mad now.

I agree with you, A lot of people have been put off in the past couple of months, it's going through a pretty bad patch.. Ever since the pub hostage last year with Cameron the writers have been terrible. Some of these storylines like the HIV one have been dragging on for months.

Caught a bit yesterday, tbh I think the HIV+ SL with Val has been a bit irresponsible.

Val shagged that chunky gruff guy and the message seemed to be it's ok for a hiv+ person not to disclose their STD (STI sounds too innocuous) status prior to safer sex. WTF? Victoria encouraged Val to be reticent about being hiv + when having safer sex. It was if Emmerdale was saying Val can keep quiet about her status as condoms will be used. Well nothing is 100% safe.

Sure folk with HIV+ can lead able lives, and medicine has improved, but the fact remains it will often lead to AIDS and it's still incurable .

Don't care if it's not PC. When it comes to sexual health actually people do have a right to know. It should have been angled that Val had been irresponsible and selfish by not telling her shag bloke and not angled as some sympathetic love lorn vixen who's the victim of chunky bloke's bigotry.

They've actually moved filming to a purpose built Home Farm closer to Emmerdale itself. It makes sense, but it's kinda sad since Emmerdale have used Creskeld Hall since episode 1.
