Roma forward Fabio Borini is expected to become Brendan Rodgers' first signing as Liverpool manager.

The 21-year-old Italy international worked with Rodgers at the Chelsea academy and on loan at Swansea.

Talks between the parties are ongoing and although the deal has yet to be agreed, the potential fee is likely to be in the region of Ł8m.

Yes!! Haven't seen him since he left Swansea but he was boss for them, scored 10 in 26 last season for Roma, I'm guessing a lot of his appearances would have been as a sub aswell

Agreed. I mean look at the likes of Pirlo did at Euro 2012 and he is still world class at his age. Age is not a barrier!

Dempsey has a few years in him yet if he aspires to play at a top level club...

Haven't heard anything on Ramirez today, I guess we'll want him signed before the Olympics though if we're getting him.

Quite happy with these rumoured signings so far, Dempsey/Borini/Ramirez would add a lot to our squad, we still need to add an extra winger or too, though.

Maxi hasn't left yet. He was a certainty to leave under Kenny and even said his farewells, but I'd not be surprised to see him stay now. Hes been one of our better players over the last couple of years even though he doesn't get that many opportunties for some reason, so hopefully he does stay and has been promised more game time

What cost Liverpool is the lack of finishing last season or conversion of chances, so I am guessing that is one area he is looking to work on?

At one stage Liverpool had 30 shots more than United in total but United were more clinical in terms of goals scored...

We needed more goals from midfield, we needed someone like Adam or Henderson to step up in that department because Gerrard was out for so long but neither did. If our players out wide had chipped in with a few extra goals every now an then we'd have finished a few places higher. Downing didn't score a single league goal, Kuyt only got 2, and Henderson 2).

Defensively we were fine, and we were fine creating the chances most of the time, we just didn't really have anyone to finish them off. Suarez got 11 league goals but he still wasted more than we could afford, and Carroll didn't get going til the last few weeks.

I'd be guttered if we got rid of Carroll, he is probably my favourite player. I think he showed at the Euro's that he doesn't need a team to be built around him either like most people think he does, he just needs decent crosses thrown into him and he'll get on the end of them.
