Yer a bit.Except Grays didn't get too many big name players on high wages, more young players released by league clubs, that is what Stimson is good at doing.

Not Stevenage then .Weymouth will go out of business soon as they bought the league last season and their chairman's soon going to get sick of having to pay out more money at the end of the season to keep them going as the crowds aren't good enough, they are proably breaking the wage cap limit anyway judging by the players they have and the crowds they got last season, unless the turnover from other sources is helping to pay the wages and the debt they got from paying for good players whilst still in conf south and paying off Steve Claridge's contract.
Lol sorry Dan, I just support the local clubs in the South-West. Stevenage up the season after that.
I don't know much about their financial situation but if it's as bad as that then that isn't good news. I'm not suprised, Weymouth isn't exactly massive.

Yes, but it's not your fault your side are in the wrong league. If they carry on the way they are going they will be next year! And better than that, all the overpaid players you have will be looking for new jobs. Shame you can't off load them all now to a local pub team in Newcastle!

He will forget we beat you 3-1 in a few weeks.... but I won't, it lots of fun and you don't get another chance to play Southend until 17th February. Unless we are drawn together in the FA cup.

They are 8th in Ryman Premier League at the moment, they lost in the play-offs last season. We tried signing one of their players in the summer, they kept putting up the price so we gave up.

Another great night of football tonight.

Chelsea lost at Boro
Arsenal scraped a win, albeit a 3-0 lead from 1st leg
Man Utd looked impressive though

Ajax out of CL to FC Copenhagen Only PSV for the Dutch left.

Would expect Ajax to do well in UEFA

Sheff Weds, Wolves and Preston all out to lower league opposition in Carling Cup

Very interesting midweek!

Roy Keane likely to be the new Sunderland manager, not sure he's the right man for the job as he's never been a manager before.

Full time Morecambe 3-3 Stevenage.Nice to get off the mark but cannot help thinking if we'd have defended better we would have our first win but credit to Boro for scoring a 3rd goal when Morcecambe had gone into the lead, Steve Morison what a signing so far, first player to score a hat-trick for Stevenage in ages.

Onto FGR at home on monday and hopefully our first win, drop Oliver and play Henry would be my advice.

Atleast we got a draw against Stoke, apparently we were dominating for alot of the game and someone hit the bar, don't know who yet. I would've been really annoyed if we'd lost!
Can't believe Plymouth are still in the top half of the table after 5 games, someone wake me up.

Well, he's got the right nationality

Liverpool have to get better though, even more so Arsenal. I'll reserve judgement on Chelsea until after tomorrow's game. They've had 1 good and 1 average performance so far.

Man Utd have started well.

More importantly

Heerenveen 5-0 Willem II

2nd in table, behind AZ, who have scored 11 in 2 games, compared to our paltry 8 in 2 games

I think that the Bellamy/Kuyt partnership is potentially the best in the league so they are bound to bang the goals in. We've got cover for every position as shown by Agger today with his great performance capped by a terrific strike. As the new players settle in we'll become genuine contenders for the title. We have to beat Chelski in a league game first though!

They did well in the first two games but Man utd were lucky today. Arsenal seem lightweight and over reliant on Henry. The exact same problem they had last year and the same one we had the in the league when we won the European cup. Wenger has to contend with Cole leaving too and they have alot of youngsters. Can't see them doing much this season.

Unless Arsenal get in gear soon, it's a 3 horse race.

Potentially, but you gotta throw Crouch in. Benitez won't drop him. Potentially, Rosicky supplying Henry, or Ballack supplying Shevchenko or even scoring loads himself, but potential is nothing, if not acted upon.

As for Agger, needs to be first and foremost a defender. Great strike, I agree, but Mihajlovic was one of the best strikers of a ball, but one of the worst defenders i've ever seen. I hope Kuijt does well. Good start. I just think he may not do it against big teams, I hope he does, as it's good for our NT

All depends on next few days with transfer window. Mascherano looks like on is way to Arsenal, Brazlian TV has said Tevez is on way to Man Utd, plus Ashley Cole/Gallas may still happen.

We'll know more late Thursday!
