While I do waver on SOME aspects of the Second Amendment (I wish people and especially my female relatives could carry something like self-defence spray without getting into trouble) stats like that really bring it home.

But American "gun culture" is too deeply ingrained, I doubt any Presidential candidate (even at the Primaries level) would want to tackle it. It's going to be a long time until it's even close to being possible.
