The annual Bid 2 Beat AIDS auction has just launched on eBay, and once again there are some terrific Madonna items, including a signed copy of Madonna's children's book Lotsa de Casha, a framed Evita movie poster, and a Madonna Ultimate Fan Pack, which includes a limited edition numbered lithograph and many rare promo items.

Proceeds benefit LIFEbeat - The Music Industry Fights AIDS, and goes toward HIV/AIDS prevention youth programs.

Revolver - Tracy Young's Shoot To Kill Mix

MadonnaTribe readers know that DJ Tracy Young was one of the remixers asked to give their own treatment to Madonna's new single since we first reported of the upcoming "Revolver" remixes on October 14th.

Now it's Tracy's turn to spill more beans and let the fans know that her "Revolver" mix is called "Tracy Young's Shoot To Kill Mix" and is currently topping her own Top Ten:

Golden Celebrations in the US

Good news coming from the US market. On November 23 RIAA has certified Madonna's Celebration" album as Gold for shipment over 500,000 units in the US - also bringing her total tallies to 64 Million units in the USA.

"Celebration" is also Madonna's 19th Gold Album.

And as good things don't come to a end, "Celebration The Video Collection" was also certified Platinum for shippment over 100,000 units.

SING Campaign Second Anniversary

SING, the Annie Lennox song performed with the "Choir of 23" international singers and including Madonna was released two years ago today, December 1st, to coincide with World Aids Day.

To celebrate SING's second anniversary, Annie Lennox is auctioning five very special prizes.

The money raised will help prevent the spread of HIV in South Africa, where 1,000 people die from AIDS-related causes every day. Moreover, approximately a third of all pregnant women there carry the virus, and without intervention, a third of their children will be born with HIV.
Unless they get diagnosed and treated, half of all children with HIV die before their first birthday.

But it doesn't have to be like this. With appropriate intervention and treatment, these babies can be born HIV free. The SING campaign is trying to ensure that every single person living with HIV has access to treatment and support.

Since 2007, SING has raised over $2 million, and helped over 100,000 people affected by HIV in the Eastern Cape of South Africa - but there is much more work to be done, and we need your help to do it.

The story behind the facts

Raising Malawi Executive Director Philippe van den Bossche posted this entry on the site's blog today, on World AIDS Day.

Today is World AIDS Day - a time for us all to pause and to reflect. We could spend the day giving you shocking statistics, but today we wish to share with you stories of courageous people, not so different from you and me.

In Malawi, HIV/AIDS impacts everyone - mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and even sons and daughters. Loving people of flesh and blood, who are just trying to make the best of their situation.

Edith and her son Sinode were one such family. Watch their story in the video embedded here:

In some areas of Malawi it can cost $2 to travel to proper medical care. For many Malawians like Edith, this is an expense well beyond their means.

It takes the kind of strength and determination Edith exhibited just to make it to a hospital. Her courage not only inspires me, but will no doubt be an incredible life lesson for her son.

Many of us can relate to the experience of having to care for family members or raise children while being sick ourselves. But few of us have had to overcome the financial and logistic hurdles that Edith faced to receive basic medical care.

Sinode and many other children in Malawi need our help. They have witnessed the courage of their parents and family members, but too many are now left alone, orphans raising orphans.

Today, on World AIDS Day, I encourage you to think of the faces of this epidemic - beautiful, courageous people confronting a life-threatening disease with incredible bravery.

The people of Malawi have shown great depth of character, but now it's up to us to ensure the future of their next generation. It is the children of Malawi that will raise their great nation.

They havnt comfurmed who will appear on the final yet, So I reckon she will be on that (Possible Revolver song as well).
