Yeah he is just as good.
I think, if he isn't already, that he'll become most peoples favourite character during the second season |

Funny. I saved these short series, until it finishes, then I watch them in one go online. I am too impatient, to see the next episode, so I prefer it that way. So Ive watched all of them the past few weeks. Awesome series. My favorite character, is the little swordsman\girl, lol.
You guys would like the Borgias too, if it shows in the UK, I dont know, so check it out, if you like these types of series.

That said I still watched it and crazy as it sounds I loved him in this and my opinion of him really changed. I too was absolutely shocked and gutted that he was killed off. I had hoped there was going to be a twist because we didn't see it actually happen. I now realise the importance of his death and why it happened.

I'm seriously thinking about investing in the books. I simply can't wait until the next season is out.
Problem is when I read books I have this nasty habit of pulling the screen version down.

I'm about three quarters of the way through Book 2 now. I'd say so far that it is about even with the first (it starts off a lot better but near the middle it is more about building things up and getting characters to where they need to be). I don't know how they are going to go about some things though if they have the same budget as Season 1, because there's a lot of... CGI needed.
There are a couple of main characters from Season 1 that take a backseat aswell and don't really feature for large chunks of it, but you are always aware of where they are and what they are doing, so they'll probably manage to write scenes for them in the show. Game of Thrones' executive producer David Benioff has revealed that the show will begin to change from George R R Martin's books in the third season.
Speaking at Comic-Con, Benioff explained that the third novel is too large to cover in one season. "If we're lucky enough, if we have a season three, that's when it will start not corresponding so neatly to the books because Storm of Swords is too big to do as one season," he said. "Our hope has always been that we can keep this alive somehow. There's a certain scene - I'm not even going to say the name of the scene because the name itself is a spoiler... Let's call it 'RW'. We've always felt that if we can get to 'RW', then we've accomplished something." Martin added that he does not want to watch 'RW' on the television as it was so disturbing to write, saying: "When they film it and show it, I'm going to try to arrange to be out of the country during that period and some place that doesn't actually have television yet." Meanwhile, Benioff also dropped hints about what fans can expect from the upcoming second season of Game of Thrones. "We have a bunch of great new characters coming in," he said. "We've already got such an incredible cast, but it's time to meet the Red Priestess. "It's time to see those dragons and wolves start to grow up. There's bad stuff lurking north of the wall. It's a season of exploration." The second season of Game of Thrones, which will star new cast members Liam Cunningham, Carice van Houten, Stephen Dillane, Natalie Dormer and Gwendoline Christie, is expected to premiere next spring. |

The three of them are good characters.
Davos is a point of view character in the book so is more of a main character than the other 2. |

Just finished book 2. I'd say the books are even to one another, but book 2 will make the better TV season.

Great casting for Stannis, Davos, and Melisandre. Though this ends my dream casting of John Simm as Davos.

I brought the first book read the first 300 pages then stopped reading it.. it was so much like the tv series it felt pointless reading it.
