That's absolute rubbish, but you can believe that if you want to. Rooney was bang out of order and I absolutely can't stand him. I love all the other England players though and thought they played brilliantly.

I certainly agree England should've won but the whole red card thing is something I'm not going to argue with. Although...I do agree that some Portuguese players should have been sent off, which is where more unfairness comes in from the referee.

Its about WHO sent him off,it was a yellow card at the most and his team mate is totally to blame. The actual 'tackle' happened after a tussle with Rooney and two portugal players,Ron##### was nowhere near at the time.

The ref was not going to punish Rooney any more than a yellow if at all until Goofy started

As long as you weren't taking the piss out of Ireland I couldn't care less.

We did have a tough qualifying group though.

Ah, the English will get over it in a few days, like we Dutch have.

England and Holland have fairly straightforward Euro 2008 groups, Portugal do too

And for the English, Scotland have Ukraine, Italy and France

What's to say everything happened because of him though? Were you there? I agree he played a part in it, but for one thing he's playing AGAINST Rooney so obviously he's going to play for his own team! And secondly everything happened right in front of the referee so he saw what was going on. I'm not going to argue because there's no point. All I'm going to say is that whilst I don't agree with the red card thing, I do agree that the referee should've sent some Portuguese players off. Also that England is the better team and totally deserved to win, because even with 10 players who aren't publicised that much they played brilliantly.

I know - its obvious whos side the referee was on from the start - why else would he have listened to that dimwit ronaldo? He is not the referee - he has no right to tell him what to do!!! I beleive that he would not have been sent off if he had not opened his fat mouth!!!

ronaldo told the ref to ive him a red.

I wouldn't call a past it France, or Switzerland overly tough, possibly should have come 2nd.

You have Germany and Czechs in Euro 2008 qualifiers, so it doesn't get easier!

Footballing wise yes, but the refs haven't cottoned on to Portugal's antics yet, although the ref did okay aside from the Ronaldo asking for Rooney to be sent off incident.

The ref was an absoloute joke, even when a Portugal player clearly dived he still blew the whistle and gave a free kick to them, i just think if your going to referee a game then do it fairly, today he was poor IMO, very poor.
