I feel like he probably will be a regular character though otherwise why would they have his scene at all, like it didn't really serve much of a purpose other than to introduce someone new, it's not as if he had anything to do with anything that was happening in the episode, or that it was particularly funny or anything.

Sorry but this programme is very average the only slightly entertaining one was Karen. Why bring it back? Because it involves gay characters well that isn't even an issue now so the whole point of the programme just stereotypes people now

I don't think it's that deep tbh, I think they just brought it back because a lot of people find it funny (Karen is god... Joanna Lumley cancelled), and after the election special thing they did last year there was a big demand for it, I don't think it's anything to do with the characters being gay.

It was the big main stream openly gay sitcom if I remember correctly and I just remember thinking that Jack is literally too stereotypical I didn't mind will though but I'm pretty sure it evolved around the fact that will was gay??

But I mean does that subject need to be addressed as we are all the same

It was a big deal at the time that the characters were gay because there was virtually no representation of gay people in the media, and there was a lot of focus on the 'types' of gays that Will and Jack were because of that (and criticism mainly of Jack because of that, although personally I think he's a comedy character and so it doesn't matter if aspects of him are stereotypical... and there are a lot of people like Jack anyway so it's also kind of offensive imo to say that those people shouldn't be represented just because of negative stereotypes that have been imposed onto them by straight people but anyway...) the point is that the gay thing was a big deal because the media made it a big deal, but at the end of the day it's just a sitcom and it's purpose is to be funny. It's not about needing to address any subject. It's no different to if Friends were to be brought back or any other comedy.

Also just to add, no other shows are expected to represent all 'types' of people so I don't see why Will and grace should be held to different standards (and for a show that started in the late 90's and straight after Ellen was cancelled for becoming 'too gay' I'd actually say it was pretty progressive to have a main character like Jack in it).

Did you ever watch the show?

It revolves around all 4 of them. Not all of the storylines or episodes were about being gay, the characters just were gay.

It's like saying Friends is "all about being straight" when it was just character who were straight.

The recent episode was pretty good!

It seems Rosario still works for Karen though, it seems like the show is always gonna have her "in a different room" but still there... I guess that leaves it open for if her actress changes her mind.
