I forgot to add I don't necessarily think the ten years should actually happen in all cases, but if that's a guideline law then the vandals would at least face a trial, and it would appear on their criminal record.

I agree, this is a knee jerk reaction, the establishment is crumbling but heavy handed tactics like that won't work this time.
Usually the right use war memorials to stir national pride to rail against protestors, that in the main isn't happening now.. we are quite rightly demanding some accountability.

c) if he didn’t know, then clearly he needs to be educated given that the reason he was “supposedly” there in London was to protest the defacing of memorials, which is exactly what he’s doing by pissing up one
