Real Madrid and Barcelona have been mismanaged running up huge mountains of debt, unrelated to the pandemic, they have been spending beyond their means for years.
Man City don't have financial concerns, they are doing very well, they have an owner with a limitless supply of cash. Man City will not go bust, PSG will not go bust, Man United will not go bust .... The guy is trying to save his own ass |

I don't disagree that a Barcelona v Manchester United game is more attractive than one with a more modest Club although that said it depends on the Club involved and there have been some terrific giant killing matches in the past, the point is it is no more than a friendly if neither Man U or Barcelona suffer any consequences from losing a match? how would you respond to that Nicky, they can both go for nil nil, or one could hammer the other one off the park every match, but they will both be still there the following season, so a friendly no less

it sounds incredibly boring, the same teams playing each other all the time more or less, it's exciting now because these teams don't meet up very often, if we were looking at them playing each other regularly where would the hype be, I don't get it at all

Statement from Everton
![]() The strong statement is the first official word from any of the 14 clubs and does not hold back, saying: "Everton is saddened and disappointed to see proposals of a breakaway league pushed forward by six clubs. "Six clubs acting entirely in their own interests. "Six clubs tarnishing the reputation of our league and the game. "Six clubs choosing to disrespect every other club with whom they sit around the Premier League table. "Six clubs taking for granted and even betraying the majority of football supporters across our country and beyond. "At this time of national and international crisis - and a defining period for our game - clubs should be working together collaboratively with the ideals of our game and its supporters uppermost. "Instead, these clubs have been secretly conspiring to break away from a football pyramid that has served them so well. "And in that Pyramid Everton salutes EVERY club, be it Leicester City, Accrington Stanley, Gillingham, Lincoln City, Morecambe, Southend United, Notts County and the rest who have, with their very being, enriched the lives of their supporters throughout the game's history. And vice versa. "The self-proclaimed Super Six appear intent on disenfranchising supporters across the game - including their own - by putting the very structure that underpins the game we love under threat. "The backlash is understandable and deserved – and has to be listened to. "This preposterous arrogance is not wanted anywhere in football outside of the clubs that have drafted this plan. "On behalf of everyone associated with Everton, we respectfully ask that the proposals are immediately withdrawn and that the private meetings and subversive practises that have brought our beautiful game to possibly its lowest ever position in terms of trust end now. "Finally we would ask the owners, chairmen, and Board members of the six clubs to remember the privileged position they hold – not only as custodians of their clubs but also custodians of the game. The responsibility they carry should be taken seriously. "We urge them all to consider what they wish their legacy to be."

Aston Villa have been champions of Europe more times than Arsenal, City and Spurs combined; Nottingham Forest have won more than all bar Liverpool and United. Tottenham have won one League Cup in 22 years.

Kick them all out of the football league. There's no coming back for them now.
Leicester and West Ham can fight it out for the title. 6 teams promoted from each division and get rid of the rebels. They can go play their little league. |

I feel sorry for the players in all this, there has been alot of fuss quite rightly made by the fans but the players are pawns in all this and have no say unless they upsticks and move on

i think there will be a lot of transfer requests going in, particularly from those that have an international career. UEFA need to act fast or they will be all bark and no action

They're all millionaires anyway, I'm sure they'll get by in the short term. In the long term, they can find a job at another club. They may have to take a lower wage, but it will still be more than most people's.

I know some people think money solves everything, but many of these players have families and have roots around the Clubs they play for
