Maybe the footage of some getting decked or dragged violently off the road by their hair made them reconsider..

I saw a few videos where they actually did. None with injuries though. I learned that when cross-legged people are nudged along by massive lorries, they sort of just... slide along the road on their butt... who knew.

That said, all it would take is for their jeans to catch on a stone and they're getting dragged under the wheels . And it demonstrated that some people's patience had come to a worrying end.

As per the signature - Zizu is on Tapatalk! You need to know the bbcodes to do it manually really. Though it is a fairly simple [tweet] (tweet ID) [/tweet ]

I'm worried about their critical thinking - they're trying to use ladders to climb up to get the balloons?? None of them can think of a better solution than this?

They also think their actions are good for their cause, so they're clearly not dealing with a full deck to begin with.

I find that a bit generous - they don't "think" at all, someone higher up in the hive mind pyramid told them it was the thing to do, so that's what they're doing. There's not a whole lot of thought involved in the actions. I can appreciate that many of them have noble intentions but really very little in terms of actual individual agency.

That sort of sums up my thoughts on a lot of "modern issues" really. Well-meaning people who think they're on the right side of history, but really they're just repeater nodes for someone elses' activism.

I think climate issues will be variable over time. However, as a matter of principle we should avoid polluting our water and air as much as we can. It just makes logical sense

Where i draw the line is putting the average person into poverty to achieve a clean environment, because that will be worse than anything the climate can throw at us

I fall very firmly in the "lol we already broke it, why make the lives of the last few generations of humans on earth harder for no reason".

Really there are two possibilities...

1) The optimistic one where LT and co are right, it has nothing to do with humans and will all sort itself out in the end.

2) The realistic one where it is caused by humans, but we're blatantly not going to fix it.

There is no option 3 where it's caused by humans but we actually fix it, for me. That's just not the world we're in unfortunately... no matter how many protests there are, "peaceful" or otherwise, the entire western world could go no oil/net zero tomorrow and it would make F - all difference. So why bother? Might sound defeatist I suppose. I'd call it pragmatic .

I agree with this. There's nothing wrong with recycling what we can and generally looking after our own environment. Because we live on a boat, anything that goes down the plug hole has to be marine friendly cleaning products (no Phosphates)

But then I believe this hysterical push on global warming and deliberately blaming it on the human species, is to create fear and compliance.
Global warming and cooling is a natural occurrence and yet so many top climatologists have been shut down from saying this.

"Probably paid by the Daily Mail"

So deluded. It's not just the DM who're sick of their antics.
