NSW Ambulance chief executive Dr Dominic Morgan says that ambulance crews were on the scene at Bondi Beach in under 10 minutes.
Morgan adds that first responders transported 24 patients in the first wave of the emergency "and attended 14 people who were deceased at the scene".
He says two other people died in hospital and a total of 42 people attended NSW facilities.
