I have nothing against smokers, just smoking. I just wish they'd cop on and why would they be proud of the habit?
But why shouldn't we be proud of our habit ? It's our habit, we know it's bad, but still. I have that addiction, you may have an addiction to chocolate or ice-cream, at the end of the day, they're habits that people should respect.
I'm not going to be polite about something I feel strongly about. That might sound snotty, but whatever. My question is -- why, of all things, would you be proud of smoking? Are you proud of harming your lungs and making your clothes stink of smoke? Are you proud of puffing out that harmful smoke? Cigarette/tobacco smoke can spread across a distance that you'd be suprised at. I'd just hate to be smoking in a room where there might be little children and infants, as well as adults, standing by.

I'm sure you're a nice guy, but I disagree with what you're doing to yourself.
In all fairness EVERYBODY has a vice. It just so happens that some people's is smoking. I don't see a problem if the smoker is not near the non-smoker.

I am getting to a stage where smoking is annoying me, and I want to give up, but I won't have an issue with others who smoke.

I never do that, I'm not insane. I do respect them as much as they respect me. The ones who smoke with children around are stupid, seriously.
I never pointed you out specifically.

Should we respect drug addicts then?
Drugs are forbidden. The context is way more different than smoking.
Its still an addiction though, and the context isn't different. Nicotine is a more addictive drug and can damage you more than most illegal ones.

Thank you ! Jesus, I thought I was the only one. I do agree smokers shouldn't smoke with non-smokers right ? But sometimes it just happens.

Smoking annoyed me sometimes...but not really long lol

Then why Nicotine isn't forbidden if it causes more damage than most illegal ones ? You obviously don't know what you are talking about.

The illegal drugs cause more mental damage than physical damage. That's why they are banned and nicotine isn't.

yeah even as I smoker myself, I HATE people who smoke around children or when pregnant.

I remember when I worked in a pub before the smoking ban and this couple came in with their 4 day old baby girl.

They were smoking around her, and blowing smoke in her direction, and I was getting so angry with them. It really annoyed me.

Nicotine has not been banned from the UK as the government gets sooo much money from it. The government dont get money from illegal drugs.

We all know that, it's not like it was a secret. I was talking about the damages. Try taking Heroine then Smoking, you'll see which one is the most damaging one.

Let's not try to compare one drug to another -- both are equally harmful.

Well actually just to put it straight, Marijuana isnt that addictive. Its the tobacco you put in with it so you can smoke it that makes it addictive, the only thing you would get addicted to is the feeling it gives you.
Tobacco is the most addictive, the government wont ever get rid of it as it brings loads of money in and the fact it is additive means that people never stop haha.

But some cause more damages than cigarettes hence it they aren't banned.

Whats so good about it anyway. Its skank, smelly and ugly. Oh and stupid.
It's an habit like another. I'm sure you wouldn't like people criticizing your habits all day long.
Biting my nails dosen't smell, look ugly, damage your own or other peoples health and it aint stupid.

So its different.
biting your nails gives you more germs than licking a toilet seat. also, having your hands in your mouth and having skanky nails is sooo sexxyyyy
