27th June
We were supposed to be at 10.30 for our breakfast but instead after tossing and turning all night I didn’t wake up till half 1! After a shower and some telly we went in search at lunch at 3ish on the way to the stadium. Seeing that Pizza Hut had a hugee long line Thatters coming out its door I suggested we get food there. Reached the stadium at 4ish and after collecting the tickets we went to front row aisle seats of the GA seating-I wanted them as there was much more dancing space after getting squished the night before! After buying a small bit of merchandise I went in search of lunch and brought 2 plain pizzas and 2 bottles of water-disgusting and warm respectively, urgh! Later I got a Bacardi Breezer after one of the many drinks people walking around. There was the usual singsong of Valerie, the Bob Marley ‘one life, one love’ song and the usual annoying ads. There was an old man tap dancing on the pitch-too cute! I also did some people watching and declaring that there was less men then the day before. At 6ish the ringmaster came out and introduced Gary Go, by this time I had this speech pretty much off by heart and was talking along with him, causing some people on the pitch in front of me to laugh! The intro vid played but then after that, no-one appeared and the screen went back to ads and music. There was much confusion and a while later a message appeared on the screens which read ‘Unfortunately Lady Ga-Ga will not be performing tonight, Gary Go will be on at 7.05’ Lots of WHAT rang around the place before the booing began. Gary Go did come on at 7.05 and did a longer set than usual, including a cover of Just Dance. He mentioned Lady GaGa and we all booed again. He said he didn’t know the words and he had them in front of him! For one song he said ‘I’m dedicated this to Howard and I went WHY well loud before he said the rest of the boys names, lol! He was the best I had seen him so far, he seemed much more confident. As he was finishing his set the rain began. It was light and then it got heavier and heavier. Soon everyone was soaked to the skin and the black plastic over the pitch flooded causing huge huge HUGE puddles. My mum had gone off to get rain ponchos from the merc stand after about 15 minutes of being drenched and they helped a good bit. Hey Jude was played as usual and we all sang along trying to keep our spirits up. Later Singing in the Rain was played as well as Push the Button. The rain had people dancing and skidding around on the pitch, everyone was SO wet! About 5 minutes before the boys came on the rain started to get lighter and the ringmaster’s voice came over the tannoy, saying Take That had asked for all brollies to be put down so we could get wet together. Micraously just as the intro began, the rain disappeared! It was in and out with drizzles for the some parts of the show but never came back as heavy as it had been. In the intro some of the cast had the rain ponchos on which I found funny. I don’t why but the rain had somehow made the atmosphere much better and the crowd was louder and dancing more than they had done the day before. As Gary began GD he shouted out ‘It’s raining Manchester but we don’t care!’ which was greeted which lots of cheering. Due to the little bit of rain during Hello Mark’s hair was wet and he looked soooooo yummy! That man just seems to get hotter every show. They shook each others hands at the top of the ladders and went around the B-Stage crowd again! When Gaz was singing Could it be Magic he sang ‘Baby take me’ then WHERE? And the crowd ‘High up on a hillside’ and then ‘Where the stallion meets the sun’ Pray was the usual routine with added crazy dancing and hugging! The piano wasn’t there for A Million Love Songs which I’m presuming was because of the rain as Jamie was introduced later with the rest of the band. The rain in Back for Good made no difference for once was everyone was already soaked! They shoved there microphones in the crowd as we sang and swayed. The Garden was gorgeous as usual and as the elephant came up, there were camera flashes everywhere around the stadium! Mark said his circus line again and then Shine began. Everyone sang along as Mark ran along the runway and we all the Shine arm waves. Up All Night had people dancing in the puddles on the pitch-most dancing of the night-big party! Jay then starting chatting with us and had us all laughing, can’t remember why, I was too busy staring at his gorgeousness. And then he said he had us on his side and started Wooden Boat. The stadium always seems to go quiet during WB which annoys me no end. I sang every word and wooed ‘GO ON JASON’ quite a bit although I doubt he could hear me when my spot at the back. He then thanked us and Gaz did his usual Jay trouser M&S joke. He then said he is also wearing M&S underwear which prompted the usual OFF OFF OFF from the crowd. Jay said he something about leaving his thong at home but Howard still wore his leather one from back in the day. How then went ‘Don’t be telling them my fetishes!’ Sooo funny, How is so the dark horse of the band. How Did It Come To This was next and Jay got us all clapping along and the devotees also sang. He then went ‘Take That do rock and roll, who would have thought it, eh?’ as he laughed (yum). I don’t think HDICTT is rock and roll though! As the guys went off stage, Gaz went to his piano and did his usual thanking us for the Kili climb thing and began The Circus. I was still amazed how flawless and powerful Gary’s voice is during this. The tightrope walker was brill as usual. What is Love was next and the balloons got stuck in the circular screen! And poor Markie’s rose fell down! Do What Ya Like medley had the thrusting, the breakdancing, and boybandish about it with the crowd screaming along. The guys did their unicycling and How did the rude bit again! And Markie did his short gag. As Gary came up to the B-Stage on his trik the guys shook their heads at him for stealing the limelight from their unicycle skills! Then the medley continued with the guys running about the stage to TTAP and then dropping their pants. They pull them up too fast-I still ain’t got a picture! Said It All most moving as always and the crowd sang especially loud for the chorus, heart this song! The tickertape got streaming out at the end. As the drumming began for Never Forget the crowd were getting very excited. The arms and the singing are amazing every time. And How always looks so happy! Patience was the joint loudest song for the 2nd night in a row. I’m proud of the boys that all the loudest songs, all the ones which the crowd seem to love the most are all new ones. For Relight there was the whips and the fire and this time Markie got in one of the cages and was dancing with one of the girls! Then as they waved bye, loads of people started to leave! I was shouting that it wasn’t over but no-one seemed to be paying me much attention. Mark came up smiling while crouched over in his sparkliness-my fav outfit of the tour. And after singing a bit the other boys came out the front of the stage. HUAL was the usual loads of singing, lights and jumping up and down. As they thanked everyone, it came to the support acts and Gaz went ‘Thanks to our support acts tonight-Gary Go and Gary Go!’ which got lots of booing. Gary went ‘Don’t get me started! You should have heard me backstage. No really mate; you got us out a spot tonight’ Fecking cheek of GaGa! As they said they would be doing Rule the World as their last song they all took out at least one earpiece with Gaz and Jay taking them both out. It was loud, moving, with the guys hugging at the side of the stage and the fireworks lighting up the sky. I adore the atmosphere during RTW-everyone singing, everyone with their arms in the air. As they finished and bowed Mark went ‘There’s nowhere like home!’ and they disappeared of the stage. Although nothing has beaten Dublin yet, it was definitely the best atmosphere yet. |

28th June
Woke up at half 10 and we went down for breakfast. I ate like half the food they had! I wouldn’t have the chance to get any food for the rest of the day so I had to stock up! I asked for a copy of the TT menu and they actually gave me one! How nice. Then was the packing which wasn’t exactly fun. My umbrella was sticking out the top of my bag. We sat around the lobby for a hotel and at 2 the taxi turned up. My mum was off to the airport to go to Portugal and I was going stalking! Or as Thatters like to call it ‘craving’. I was very nervous but also excited. When the taxi got there there was already about 50ish people dotted about the street. I sat down on a pavement with all my bags and waited. I chatted to some people and moved around a few times, eventually dumping my bags at the hotel wall and moving close to the door. Before that, while on the other side of the street Gaz’s family came out the side of the hotel! Dawn had Emily and Dan and James/Paul (the security guys I can never tell them apart) was carrying Daisy in car seat. Dan and Emily were gorgouous, wearing TT tops with their names across the back and they were smiling at us all, Em had like half her teeth missing! As Dawn was putting Daisy in the car I glanced in and she is the cutest thing! Small lil thing with huge blue eyes and a lil button nose and a tuft of blonde hair. She was sucking on a dummy and she looked at me! New claim to fame-Gary Barlow’s 6 month old looked at me :P This was about 2.20,after moving to the other side, I noticed some paps, apprentley one of them took a pic of Gary’s family which wasn’t very fair as Gaz wasn’t with them. None of the fans took any pics of them; we all just wanted a quick glance at Daisy! After a while there was about 200 people there and it was getting frantic. People who had been there the day before said they come out at 2.30 and it was nearly half 3 at this rate. James and Paul were putting stuff in the back of a car and we were getting hopeful. But then a few minutes later there was screaming and loads of people running to the side of the hotel. I stayed where I was as I had no clue what was going on. I ran down for 2 secs and saw a car skidding away. The people came back and said the guys were all gone along with James and Paul and they hadn’t stopped for anyone. Having done it the last few days of being there when there was less people I’m presuming they thought it just wouldn’t be safe. I was a bit disappointed but kinda glad they didn’t stop for anyone as then I knew I didn’t really miss out by not running to the side quick enough. I picked up my many bags and went in search of a taxi. I got to the airport ages before my flight and was so bored. At security the bleeping thing went off and they searched off and I was so flustered I fecking left my passport and boarding card in the tray! I was in WHSmith when I got called to security-oh the embarrassment! The flight was quick and then there was the bus and I was back home from my Manchester experience. Oh how I’ll miss it! 4 days to Wembley! Pics soon! |
