I don't get how people can even be bothered to discuss politics anymore.

Because at a General Election all in the UK can change the PM. On the Brexit Vote in 2016, I noticed many people, voting that were Never at the normal elections. So Referendums have a Massive Super Power. Politics is all about Change Feel The Force |

However she I understood believed holding a referendum as a failure of governnent So in that I agree. You can't have a really fair UK wide referendum with a binary question, where England has almost 4 times the voting strength of N.Ireland, Scotland and Wales put together. However England votes in any referendum, that is the much more than likely result. For me politics, is life, the governments we elect and all the MPs have a big effect on our lives, families and incomes/livelihoods. However as to parmnion's point. I feel so disappointed and even shame at how badly the UK is now served by all leaders and all Parties across politics. It's really depressing. Last edited by joeysteele; 24-09-2023 at 11:59 AM. |

Yes Joey
David Cameron MP rushed a In or Out vote, some who voted out did it just to get rid of Cameron. Strange days |

They didn't even manage to spell his name right . Lack of historical literacy and lack of critical thinking will lead you down a path of believing whatever crap is shovelled in your direction LT.I know you lads like to take the piss about the financial burden and low financial value of a good university education, but this is a prime example of why someone might want one. Intellectually impoverished. |

Banning discussion of topics dear leader will be embarrassed by. Totally normal, non-Stalinist approach to leading. Every false claim dumped on Corbyn, has been actioned by the knight of the realm. No wonder Joey has gone quiet in this thread.

tony blair and neil kinnock did the same. It stops vote losing items getting into their manifesto. I mean, if they don't want labour to win, bring in all the vote losing proposals like they usually do

BBC News Text :
[The i says private schools are set to "go to battle" with Labour over the party's plans to charge 20% VAT on school fees if it wins the next election. Many private schools have charitable status and so are currently exempted from various taxes. The paper says some have threatened to withdraw from schemes under which they support state schools if the plans go ahead.]

The paper says the schools are urging parents to pay their fees years in advance on the assumption that those payments would still be tax exempt. Critics tell the paper that the loophole would benefit the wealthiest families.]

Pandemic did strange things to people tbh.
I doubt the majority of people who took embarrassing pictures kneeling on the ground particularly know about or endorse the criminal-inspired elements of BLM. They're just supporting the idea that black lives do matter. They didn't think that much about the virtue-signal. |
