Rumor: Madonna to team up David Tennant Madonna wants to direct a movie about King Edward VIII and is hoping the former Doctor will play the ex-monarch. Madge was originally planning to star in the movie herself as Wallis, because she saw similarities between herself and the character. But she is now in talks with Up In The Air star Vera Farmiga, 36, to take the role instead. The part of King Edward hasn’t yet been cast but a source said: “Madonna’s interest in directing a drama was first revealed a year ago. “She put it on hold while going through her divorce but is really keen to get into directing again and has her eye on David, having loved his work on Doctor Who.” source: dailystar

According to the composer of the hit Womanizer, Nikesh Briscoe, Madonna asked Britney to record a song with her, to be launched on the next Madonna album.
The divas have not met in person - Spears recorded a few weeks ago her part of the music in Los Angeles and now Madonna is in New York taping the rest. It seems that the track is produced by The Outsyders (Womanizer). http://twitter.com/nikeshabriscoe

Liz Rosenberg leaves Warner, stays with Madonna
Liz Rosenberg, longtime publicity exec at Warner Bros. Records, is ankling to form her own praisery, Liz Rosenberg Media, the label announced Tuesday. During the course of her 39-year career at the company, Rosenberg was closely associated with Madonna. The superstar vocalist – originally signed in 1983 to Warner’s distributed imprint Sire, and later head of her own imprint Maverick – exited the Burbank-based label last year for a 360-degree deal with Live Nation. As part of an ongoing consultancy with the firm, Rosenberg will continue to rep Madonna, as well as current Warner acts Michael Buble, Cher, Stevie Nicks, David Foster, Charice and Katherine Jenkins. Warner Bros. Records chief executive officer Tom Whalley said in a statement, “Over the course of her remarkable tenure, Liz Rosenberg’s contribution to the company has been immeasurable. Madonna 'gets record deal for Jesus Luz'
Madonna has reportedly secured a record deal for her model boyfriend Jesus Luz. Luz has allegedly been signed by Madonna's former label Warner and will release his first single 'We Came From Light' in May. "Madonna was determined to give Jesus all the help she can," a source told The Sun. "She holds a lot of sway at Warner, where she had a deal until very recently. But getting him on the books wasn't completely plain-sailing. "There was a little give and take between her and execs, but a compromise was eventually settled upon." Luz reportedly secured a two-single deal, with Warner getting first refusal on an album. Madonna is said to have covered all of Luz's recording expenses and put him in touch with 'Frozen' remixer Victor Calderone. "Madonna really wants Jesus's career to take off," the sourse added. "She's been going through her Filofax and putting him in contact with as many of her influential pals as she can. "She's worked with Victor for a very long time and he understands just what she likes. Having him rejig Jesus's tracks will give them a cool cachet which is essential to building a clubland buzz." Rumour: Madonna signs Abbie Cornish up to her new film
Madonna has persuaded hot actress Abbie Cornish to be in her film, based on the Edward VIII Abdication crisis. The movie, W.E., tells parallel tales about Wallis Simpson in the 1930s and a contemporary woman called Wally Winthrop, who has romantic problems of her own – in addition to the fact that she’s obsessed with the Duchess of Windsor’s life. Abbie, who starred opposite Ben Whishaw in Jane Campion’s film Bright Star, will play the part of Wally once negotiations have been finalized.  Vera Farmiga will portray the Duchess. At the supper following last Sunday’s Orange British Academy Film Awards, Vera told her deal for W.E. had not been completed. The participation of both actresses depends on who is cast in the two main male roles – Edward VIII, who became the Duke of Windsor after he gave up the throne for the woman he loved, and a Russian security guard, who sexually satisfies the married Wally. The W.E. script has shown considerable improvement compared to an earlier version by Madonna and Alex Keshishian that I saw last year – there have been many drafts. Madonna travels to Los Angeles early next month to meet with potential leading men. Then she’ll head to London to inspect actors to play Edward. The film will shoot from June on locations in London and the Home Counties, with short forays to New York and the South of France. Vera will also be in Los Angeles around the same time as Madonna. She’s a contender in the best supporting actress category for her performance, opposite George Clooney, in Jason Reitman’s acclaimed best picture hopeful Up In The Air. Madonna has had a "huge row" with boyfriend Jesus Luz, reports claim.
The Mirror reports that the singer was overheard at a party in London, which she turned up to alone, talking about her problems with the 23-year-old. "Everyone kept asking Madonna where Jesus was. In the end she confided they'd had a huge row the previous day," a source said. "He is due to be in Portugal for some DJ gigs, so she went to the Soho House party on her own and left him to pack his stuff and cool off." The insider added: "She seemed to want to really let her hair down. She was drinking vintage Dom Perignon champagne, but switching it with mineral water. "Then when the DJ played a string of her hits, she hit the floor. It was only when Elton did the rounds and asked how she was she stopped dancing." Madonna, wearing black fishnet stockings, leather skirt and dark sunglasses at 10 p.m. in a dark room, blew off the Weinstein Company party at Soho House and the Summit Entertainment reception for “The Hurt Locker” at the Mondrian, for the gallery opening, where she spent most of the time on the lap of Steven Klein, another celebrity fashion photographer. Mr. Munro, who has directed a couple of videos with Madonna, said his dream was to move into the direction of feature films and he credited Madonna as “an inspiration. ”
