Unfortunately the application was vetoed because another premises in the area had one and that was considered enough.

In Newcastle the police will object to any place wanting to sell alcohol because they say there are enough outlets already, and there objections must be heeded.

THE STICKS TAVERN IS CLOSED

In the small hours a pipe broke and we were flooded out.

The firebrigade has managed to pump the water out, and we have been working on clearing up, but until the water board comes to repair the leak possibly tomorrow or Monday, I have been forced to close.

And on tonight of all nights

Before we can star repairs, we have to tender the contract out and the insurance company selects the contractor. So can not say how long this will take, plus there is the litigation with the water board . . .

It could help, now all we have to do is cut through the various levels of red tape. I sometimes wonder if the hoops insurance companies put you through are to make you give up and not pursue the claim.

BTW the waterboard are now blaming the suppliers of their piping saying it was substandard. Any thoughts on how far down the chain this will go? Don't you just love BS5750 or even BS EN ISO9000

The staff called in sick, so the lounge had to be closed. We have run out of Rum and Port and the Cider is off. Supplies are due in tomorrow, and we are hoping that hangovers will be over by then.

Oh the joys of being teetotal

I am so glad this place is still available

I hear that the e-club had a bit of trouble today

Sorry about that, but this novelty time machine came free in an old Christmas cracker, I suspect it came from Taiwan. Any hue the stupid thing was set off by something in the club and kept skipping in and out of time before reversing the flow and sending us back.

I guess I will have to see if that flux capacitor is still available on EBay.

BTW

The water is fixed

The kegs are loaded

one slight problem

The heating is off

Hot toddy's anyone?

Next week I had a Polish time machine, to use with the Pizza delivery service, but it was awkward so I swapped it for the Taiwanese one to deliver a crate of Jack Daniels which is due to be ordered next week to the e-nightclub

I hope that clears that up
