I reckon I missed out on so much **** during that whole section with Emily as I just NOPE'd it all and rushed through it as soon as possible. I'll be more thorough next time I get to that part since i'll know where the scares are.

Up to the final chapter now, Chapter 10.

Only Chris and Ashley have died so far. If I hadn't gone looking for Jess then Ashley would probably still be alive. Ah well, she was my least fave gal anyway.

Oh and Josh has been dumped in a pit. That quick-time event with Sam saving Mike was hella hard but I managed it. Still no sign of Matt since Chapter 6 but I don't think he's dead.

Anyone noticed the missing clue in the Mystery Man clueline? I got the trophy to say I found them all but clue #32 is missing...could it mean DLC to play as the flamethrower dude?

That section with Emily is so godamn good, the game kinda lacks atmosphere for most of the scares but that whole section is so scary.

Just finished my first game.

Only Matt, Sam and Emily survived. I felt kinda guilty at the end because I had the option as Sam to either "save Mike" or flick the switch and burn the house/wendigos, and I went with the latter. I don't know whether saving Mike would've worked or not but I didn't want to risk Sam dying. I ended up getting Jessica killed after Matt found her alive, and they were walking through the mines but started being chased, and I told her to run instead of hide, which caused her death I think. Matt managed to hide from them though, although I'm not sure how he was discovered by rescuers as it didn't show it. Possibly the flare gun?

It's good that you can replay the game from a certain point onwards (by choosing which episode you want to re-start from) since it would probably get tiring starting from the beginning every time, especially since I didn't have any real deaths until like Chapter 7.

Also I wonder if any of you could clarify this for me:

What happens to Josh in the end? Is there no way of actually saving him? Because he was taken away alive by Hannah's wendigo form (because he recognised her tattoo, and she recognised him according to the butterfly effect page), yet after the credits rolled and Matt, Sam and Emily were interrogated, it showed Josh in the cave becoming cannibalistic and looking like he turned into a wendigo, but the rescuers found him and said "we've found another survivor" and then I pressed R1 to see the butterfly effect and it said "Josh was found alive, isolated and cannibalistic"... but I'm 99% sure he was forming into a wendigo, so unless there's a way to keep him alive in human form, then I'd hardly say having Josh alive in wendigo form counts as "keeping all players alive".

So yeah, I'll probably play on from Chapter 7 (Chris's death) and continue from there to try and keep everyone alive, as I had been doing a good job up until that point as everyone was still alive. I'll give it another go tomorrow.

Apparently there is no way to have Josh saved, him turning into a Wendigo is his good ending. The bad one is if you fail to find all the Twins vital clues Wendigo Hannah crushes Josh's skull in her hands.

I just read an interesting theory on another forum but don't think anyone has tested it yet:

Yes, the only two known deaths for Josh Washington is getting killed here by Hannah (Wendigo) or surviving til the end but getting stuck underground and start eating flesh, which results in him turning into a Wendigo. But there is a theory about Josh. There was a book by Victor Milgram (flamethrower guy) who says that if someone kills a Wendigo without really having to, its spirit is released and will posses someone to eat flesh and become a Wendigo (hence why Josh was compelled to eat flesh in the first place). But the theory is, "What if you don't kill any of the Wendigos at ALL in the story? Then Josh wouldn't be a target. After all, it is confirmed that Hannah and Beth wants their friends to find out the truth about their deaths, but if the group fails, then Josh will have to reap the consequences, so what if you prevented that? There are a few people testing this theory as I speak, along with making sure (with Mike) that Josh doesn't die like in this video by picking up the diary. Hope this helped.

In my one there was only Mike, Sam and Emily at the lodge at the end (Matt was alive but on the outskirts of the mines hiding from wendigos). They all stood still and while the wendigos were fighting Emily ran out to safety (survival queen <3) whilst Sam and Mike were signaling to each other about the filament bulb and blowing up the lodge etc, but then as Sam I had the option to "save Mike" or light the fire, and I chose the latter. It's possible I guess, you can't die as Mike in the Sanitorum so you probably don't have to shoot the explosives. Sam managed to kill the Wendigo attacking Mike because it was on fire so if the Sanitorum remains intact she'll probably just stun it instead. The only time you HAVE to kill any Wendigos is that the end and the Lodge is really far from the mines so it might actually work.

Do you need ALL the Twin clues to save Josh? I thought you only needed the Journal in the last chapter

If you choose to save Mike they both survive as long as you pass the 'Don't Move' section...I think that's the case anyway, my controller vibrated and murdered Sam at that point.

Josh gets dragged back by Wendigo Hannah

Ashley, Chris and Emily are in the lodge and as Sam I had to stand still 1st time just to stop Mike having to save me. 2nd time I had to save Mike from being attacked and Chris ran out. 3rd stand still Emily and Ashley ran out, 4th time was by a wall and Wendigo Hannah is literally in your face and the controller goes crazy when she roars while this happens Mike escapes and then as the the Wendigo turns away Sam runs for the switch and dives out

Jess and Chris, sadly, were doomed from around chapters four and five! We're now going back to first try to save them all... And then one more time to make all the worst possible decisions and make everyone dead

I've noticed Emily is the one who they give you the most chances to kill compared to every other character

1. If you are too slow running in the mines and reach the lift late = death
2. If you fail 2 or more of the quick time events on the 2nd chase = death
3. If you run all the way up the convayor belt and fail the quicktime = death
4. If you believe she's infected = death
5. If you choose to not help her in the lodge = death
6. If you run for the switch early = death

The rest have 2 or 3 at most

Chris has a few but they're all on the same section or if you leave him in the tunnels.

Ashley only has 2 I think
