It's not really something the teachers like to talk about, most people pick it up from other people, some don't.

Some people learn about it, some people don't. Just accept that Benji.

How old are you? - you should have been taught this in school.

Benji i find that a tad rude and arrogant i thpught you were cool but i was wrong i even gave you a banner.
i didnt mean it to be a rude comment i just thought (i think ur 16/17?)

You should have learnt this within your PSHE lesson.
I might be a tad arrogant, but i would rather hit something straight on and we up front about it rather than beat around the bush. I mean, surely you know that men and women fancy each other and fancy the same sex. I mean, im sure i found that out in Y7.

Is it becuase i am well educated that i think this? It may well depend on what school you go to and if you ever went to school. etc.

I didnt mean it to cause offence, but i just thought it was a stupid question to ask. Sorry to be so upfront, but thats how i am. Sorry

Schools have different policies.
We've never had proper sex education and we watched an American video about STI's etc, in the 5th year, when everyone had already had sex and the video was bascially saying not to have sex or you'll die, type thing.

I do find it a little odd that some people make it to a certain age without being remotely aware of homosexual/bisexual people?

If you've managed to live so many years without running into gay people on television/in books/word of mouth/celebrities/witnessing gay people kissing etc then that's fine, but just slightly strange.

Most boys tend to fancy girls, and the thought of two girls kissing might enter their heads once in a while...that alone should be enough to figure out the possibility of girls liking girls/boys liking boys. It should be something you can work out for yourself without the aid of the media.

Although if you couldn't work it out for yourself, word of mouth/the media should have worked it out for you.

So yea...just plain strange. Nothing against it, but I don't see how someone can get that far in life without knowing about homosexuals. So much so, that they're baffled by the idea and don't think it's possible for homosexual people to exist.

I can't put that down to anything but plain ignorance to be fair.

I wasn't addressing that to you Rice Square, I was talking about anybody who doesn't know about sex/bisexuals/gay people etc because people were talking about it.

But since you're talking to me...

You don't understand how someone could like men and women?

You'll have to learn that some people in this world, think completely different to you.

Some people fancy men, some women, some both, some animals, some don't fancy anybody. There are people out there who actually have sex with fish, and there's a scientific name/word for it.
Some like being abused, some like feet, some like hurting people.
Some hate material posessions, some love material posessions.
Some like to save energy and not use electricity, watch television etc.
Some like to help people, some like to destroy people's lives.
Some men wear womens clothing, some women wear mens clothing.
Some people get turned on by blood and gore.

Lots of things that many of us might not understand, but they're all possible and all happening right now.

Men and women are physically almost exactly the same, only breasts/genital's are the clearest difference. We all have eyes, hair, smiles, bodies...so it's quite easy for someone to fancy both men and women.

I'm the same way, but I'll be slightly more circumlocutious and periphrastic when it's with someone whom I don't know, such as a forum member.

Actually it's quite surpising to see that some people don't know much about sexuality as we had some "sexuality, body and health" lessons when we were younger. But well some live in a box.
