Nicolette Sheridan and Marc Cherry are at war!

Nicollette Sheridan has claimed that Desperate Housewives is losing its appeal.

The actress was dropped by the ABC drama series in February after playing Edie Britt for five years.

Reflecting on her time with the programme, Sheridan told TV Guide: "When the show started it was such a different beast.

"It was exciting and dangerous and funny and edgy and bizarre. It started feeling a little complacent, and that was very frustrating."

Sheridan also suggested that show creator Marc Cherry ignored her character, commenting: "When you have a jewel, why not polish it and put it out there for all to see?"

She added: "I think whoever Edie represented in Marc's life was somebody he didn't like. And he had a very difficult time distinguishing between fact and fiction."

However, Cherry has dismissed accusations of a personal vendetta, insisting that there was no room for further development of Sheridan's character.

Discussing plans for her replacement, he continued: "We will find a new kind of sexiness coming through Wisteria Lane. What I won't do is cast another forty-something sexy blonde. Nicollette Sheridan performed the aging neighbourhood tramp better than anyone has ever done before."

Bree considers selling her business to save her marriage, Lynette is threatened by her new boss, boundaries are crossed for Gaby and Carlos, Katherine is caught in the most unexpected of circumstances and Edie's worst fears come true.

Episode 19 - "Look Into Their Eyes and You See What They Know" - 29th April
The wives visit Travers at school and tell him what happened to Edie. Newly created flashbacks show the women interacting with Edie. Bree's marriage is troubled to the limits. The Episode is not narrated by Mary-Alice Young. I'm thinking maybe Edie will do it.
