The Bradley Effect is kind of negated by the amount of people who have said that they will vote for Obama purely because he is black (just to make it clear - I don't agree with voting or not voting for anyone based on their skin colour alone), so there will undoubtedly be some who won't vote for Obama because he is black, but times have changed since the Bradley days and the Washington days (although I am not pretending that true equality truly exists), and these days, positive discrimination comes more into play. And as I said earlier, a lot of voters have said that they will be voting for Obama because of his colour.
What I find interesting is that he even refers to himself as "black" despite having a white-American mother. I guess to an extent because he married an African-American woman as well, his own children are more black than he is.

But I definitely hope you're right. I can still see his popularity edging it, particularly because times have changed, but perhaps not by the same margin we expected. And I'm so glad he was sensible and picked a running mate like Joe Biden as opposed to the whole McCain/Palin publicity stunt which people are still supporting.

Exit polls in those states where early voting is allowed are looking very favourable for Obama

I can't believe the election is nearly here, I am really looking forward to it and for the results to come in now even though I am probably supporting the loser.

Can't believe the election is tomorrow after such a long wait
Good luck to both men and let the best man win in an election which could either be really close or a land slide to Obama if that makes sense
Very sad news about Obama's grandmother, it would have been nice for her to have been alive for election day and possibly see Obama win

I hope Obama wins, that would be wonderful after his Grandmother dying. I don't even live in the US but I really want Obama to win, McCain just seems so backwards and old, and Palin is just not experienced enough. Obama acts and looks like a president, and it would be a massive step if a Black man was elected as president. I just hope all of his supporters don't back down at the last minute and decide to vote for McCain.

Actually Palin is alot more experienced than Obama
and I don't like race being thrown into the mix. Who cares if the president is white or black as long as he does a great job. I agree with what someone said on C4 news earlier that black people shouldn't vote for Obama because he is black the same that white people shouldn't vote against him for the same reasons. I do think when it is crunch time some people will vote for McCain after saying they will vote for Obama or that they were undecided.
I do think it will be alot closer than everyone expects and one of them will just edge it

Spike you seem a lot more clued up on all this, its just what I've read and heard which makes me think Palin isn't as experienced.
I do agree with you theres a lot more in this contest than everyone is thinking though.

Yeah I had a feeling that McCain could pick up some unexpected votes during the election.

I've been betting up all the locks, at the current rate im making Ł93 for every Ł1000 bet.

Doesn't sound like much relative, but some states are essentially 100%

It's gonna be a long next day or two

How has McCain been allowed to run for President, is beyond me. The guy is clueless who relies so much on Bush's ideas. His VP pick was stupid. Palin was purely brought in for her looks and charm.

Palin experienced? Where has it got her? Shes as thick as pig ****. She doesnt know anything about economics, she thinks because she lives near Russia that qualifies her to be an expert on foreign policy. Look at some of her interviews she hasnt a clue! She didnt even know what the bush Doctrine meant!

Have seen him crying in front of everyone ? That's sick, vulgar and no way classy from him. He would do anything to get more votes even involving his family life.
R.I.P. to his grandma.

Nope, that's true. I can't deny he is sad because of course he is, but he could have had a bit more dignity not to cry in front of everyone, it's something SO personal. I just can't understand that kind of behaviour.

When you are in front of thousands of people, you try not to appear weak...but I forgot it was a strategy.
It's not an expected behaviour from a politician.

Crying when your Grandma has just died and wont see you possibly win the presidential election is not weak or shouldnt be considered as appearing weak, it is perfectly understandable given the weeks of campaigning hes done and the exhaustion emtionally and physically he must be feeling anyway! Doesnt matter where or who you happen to be! But you just dont like the man so Im not listening to your unfounded bile anymore. and if he'd made a massive deal about his Grandma dying I might agree with you but he hasnt, the media have.

I don't hate him, I don't hate Mc Cain either.. I don't care about who wins, seriously. And don't take my words out of the context: I never said crying is weak, I said that, as a politician you must be strong and focussed...but obviously it's a plan to bring more votes. And hopefully I'm not the only saying it.

Good luck to both of them, they'll need some for the next 4 yearq.
