I also enjoyed HHH and think Ghost Island is the worst thing I've watched in a while, so we're on the same page there

Did they purposely get really stupid and mediocre people for ghost island so they could recreate the epic mistakes made in past seasons? So far It's not Thailand level bad but I defines did enjoy one world a lot more than this.

It feels like I'm watching a mock survivor season played by fans at some sort of cbs convention

Ok so I'm done now.. I ended up just fast forwarding to the challenges/tribal council for the last few eps... This season was just garbage, I'm actually pissed off at myself for watching it all... It's literally impossible to make a worse season. the only redeeming quality about it was Sia rhiturn for her fund a gay charity...

I think what Ghost Island represents in terms of what Survivor's priorities are in 2018 are more offensive than Ghost Island itself is.

Welp at the final of Survivor Caramoan dragging some homophobic old guy from Borneo out so he can jokingly use the word "queer" a few times.

So Survivor South Africa: Philippines inspired me so much that I decided to take on Champions! I just finished episode 5 and hooooooly **** these people are insane, what a fantastic episode. Even in spite of him being blatantly racist against Indians last episode, I am in looooooove with Zan and his boot was just everything I wanted. Being such a nuisance that Marian hid all of his pants for no reason, politely asking to quit bc he wants to go home to his girlfriend (), pissing everyone off even more bc he's a good fisherman and he wants to quit, Stephen plotting to blindside Buhle bc he thinks she has the HII, Shane going along with the plan even though he has the HII, Buhle finding out about the plan to "blindside" her to flush out the HII she doesn't have, Zan stealing the flint and giving to to Buhle so they don't vote her out, and everyone casting the NASTIEST votes towards each other such as "Zannex," "Zan is not the man," and "Solly *full-fledged paragraph written on the ballot about how much he sucks"
AND THERE WAS STILL ANOTHER TRIBAL COUNCIL THAT WAS JUST AS MESSY the whole David-Shona alliance is what dreams are made of. The two most annoying people immediately becoming tribal outcasts and getting saved only to blindside the cocky overdogs finding a HII and then having everything blow up because they're sooooo annoying and stupid like... David found the HII and told Shona but refused to tell her where he hid it, everyone getting suspicious of David for being David, Shona planning to blindside him just for fun and STEALING the HII, David owning up to having an HII and fully implicating Shona as a two-faced backstabber, a and then the entire tribe agreeing to give the HII to Corne while Shona is just left crying on the beach about how she tanked her game so badly oh my god what a fantastic hour of television.

I'm tempted to rewatch an older season again but can't decide which. One in the 3-7 range.

Just finished the premiere episode of Ghost Island. It's my first time watching since I was busy studying at the time, but I did manage to wiki-watch the season and occasionally keep up with thoughts and opinions on here. There's an obvious consensus that the season isn't enjoyable, but I'm trying to go into it with an open mind. However, it was suuuuuch a drag to get through. The cast seems bland, but I'm hoping I'll eventually like a few people who are currently UTR. The general Ghost Island theme is a bit jarring, though I kind of like the nostalgia, having people read out producer's subjective opinions on how idols/advantages were misplayed is really annoying. It definitely seems like it will be a cluster****, and an abundance of idols/advantages in play is destined to be awful.
I'm glad Gonzales was voted off first, she was obnoxious and pompous. Jacob was more likable, but he's not a loss. It was quite amusing to watch him suggest that he was misting Naviti into sending him to Ghost Island, lol. In terms of people I like, it's definitely slim pickings. Stephanie is good to watch so far ("she is. but. is she? re: Michael saying Gonzales is a physical asset to the tribe, lol) but she is toeing the line into horrific gamebot territory. There are definitely more people I'm concerned about (Domenick and Michael, mainly) in terms of people being awful/boring but we'll see. Hopefully, I can get through it, lol. I haven't watched anything from David vs. Goliath yet either, but I've heard great things so at least I'll have something to look forward to even if GI is terrible. Yeah if you're thinking that Ghost Personalities is a bit of a drag already then it's going to be kinda rough for you
David vs. Goliath is a DELIGHT so far though it's everything GI is not in the best way possible.

Okay, episode 3 of Ghost Island was a lot better than the premiere. It felt a lot nicer to follow because the narrative was clearer and everything wasn't so rushed. There was a bit of an eye-roll moment with there being a tribe swap so soon, but at least the premiere episode doesn't bode completely irrelevant because of the Chris/Domenick dynamic seeping through to this one (even though I'm completely over Domenick already).
lmao at Morgan being blindsided. There was something so stank and unlikable about her that I can't really put into words rn, but still, lol. I think it's because of how dismissive she was towards Angela (who is quite boring, but I appreciate that she appears like someone who was supposed to be cast in, like, Survivor Thailand but found herself in an evolved GAME CHANGING era). Like, at tribal council when she said "Well, Chris isn't here! " when all Angela was trying to do was explain that she was being forced into doing something by Chris. So yeah, I appreciate Original Malolo owning Morgan, but fgs at Domenick now having an idol and an advantage (though, that advantage is literally the silliest thing ever). I wouldn't be surprised if I watch the next episode and there's another tribe swap. Jeff and co seem to love them these days. Ranking of the eliminated cast so far, which I'll update every episode or so: Jacob Morgan Gonzales |

Thank you! That's good to hear. If the season maintains a similar standard to the episode I just watched, it shouldn't be too bad to get through.

Spoiler: It won't
But yeah, I wanna say that the next three episodes are like........ not entirely unwatchable, but then things go downhill fast. I'll actually be curious to hear your thoughts on the merge episode because I personally found it to be abysmal but of course Reddit ate that **** up like nothing. It's even more baffling because this season we got an actually great merge episode.
