Crazy that those two pathetic goal attempts from Foden both resulted in goals for City

Absolute rubbish reffing as usual
Clear foul on Gakpo yet no free kick given as he played on even though no advantage to Liverpool !!

They are supposed to go back to the free kick in that situation

with the number of games left to play, literally anything can happen at the top of the table. Goal difference is going to be the decider this season

Ideally Arsenal will have Partey and Jesus back for the City game so if they can get a draw at their place I’ll be fairly confident

Just seen the disallowed Trossard goal. What the hell was wrong with it? When the ball is played out after the corner, what phase are we in? are we still in the first phase of the corner? I disagree. The keeper was pretty much standing on his own when Trossard shot. What the hell does something that happened 5 seconds ago matter?

Var needs a big review

var is very hit or miss, but when white grabbed the keepers arm, that can't be allowed

I get that but my questions is what phase of play are we in? If we're in the first phase of the corner I'd disagree. When the ball is played out what happened a few seconds ago doesn't matter. Soon we'll be disallowing goals for something that happened on the other side of pitch and had nothing to do with the play.

As soon as the refs go the monitor its certain the decision will be overturned. Live at full speed no one would have disallowed that goal and if it had stood with the videos we're seeing, I still think most people would have allowed the goal

Well every pundit was mystified with the decision

In the instance i am referring to the keeper was being held while he was in the process of jumping to save the shot, i dont know how more active the phase can be

I saw that and it was a foul on the keeper but you see three or four similar offences at every free kick or corner .. nothing is ever done .. until yesterday

If you watch today every defender will be shadowing and holding their ‘man’ and not even watching the ball

because ben white stopped the keeper from saving the blinking shot, the goal should obviously be disallowed and i have no idea why anyone is trying to say it's ok, other than the fact it affected the team they support

Jumping for the weak punch out, yes Benny Blanco is holding the keepers arm. Not when trying to save the Trossard shot though. The keeper was standing still on his own.

My argument, is the corner phase has ended and we were in a new phase. Can we have the following scenarios - Corner taken, headed out, crossed back in, headed out, crossed back in, headed out, shoot score. Do we go back to original corner to see if there is a foul? Surely not. In this instance, if the keeper had stayed on the ground Trossard shoots etc. Now I agree, the goal should be disallowed but not for a hand on the arm that happened ages before the ball was in the back of the net.

Interesting as Paul Merson mentioned, the refs dont see a clear pull down of Saka but they can see a hand on the keepers arm from a corner..

He gets kicked every game. He's too honest, most of the tackles he gets he tries to stay on his feet. Grealish, Zaha would go down from most of the tackles Saka receives

I was amazed that the ref let Bernardo Silva kick Sacka up in the air FOUR times before finally booking him

I can see Chelsea winning this

I like Potter and it would be nice to see him doing well again and turning Chelsea into a team good to watch playing nice football

Although Koulabaly is always a liability

Dier just stamped on and then went through Felix .. the ref just gives a free kick and doesn’t even warn Dier

Why are refs so lenient these days
Edit - minutes later Dier goes through the back of Felix leaving him in a heap on the ground.. ref just plays on !!!

This ref is just too lenient

I reckon someone gets hurt today as he’s letting too much go unpunished

var rules automatically change when a goal has been scored. It was the same at the world cup. The moment a goal has been scored any relevant infringement on the leadup to that goal can mean the goal is disallowed. If there is no goal, the refs don't care about infringements, they have been told not to penalise so many fouls and let the game flow. Anything in the penalty area gets special var attention

I don't know whats so difficult to understand about it all

It’s not a case of understanding a lot of what goes on - it’s just that I don’t agree with what’s happening -l

The majority want to see the best /flair players showing their talent .. and teams like Arsenal being allowed to play beautiful football..

Currently they are letting thuggish players like Dier , Romero, Koulabaly just kick through players at their will with no punishment or bookings

So a frustrated flair player Ziyech reacts and gets sent off .. with Dier and Romero demanding he’s sent off - completely balmy

At the same time missing that Lenglet’s earlier push on Ziyech was worse but unpunished

The commentary on the NBC are adamant that was a red card, would have been soft imo. Especially as Ziyech was smashed in the back. And Richarlison has been smashing into players all game.

Yellow was correct, not even being bias.

Lenglet’s push / strike set it all off and he wasn’t even told off ..
