This is plainly not true, the Russian people have no sway over the Russian government whatsoever. From what's coming out of Russia, the vast majority of Russian people don't want this to be happening, and with those who do it's because they've fallen for the propaganda. The same as the vast majority of wars tbqfh. These are complex power struggles between a tiny number of people - the civilian population has nothing to do with it.

Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK government as part of its response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

He is one of seven oligarchs to be hit with fresh sanctions, including asset freezes and travel bans.

The list also includes billionaires Igor Sechin and Oleg Deripaska, both seen as allies of Vladimir Putin.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said "there can be no safe havens" for those who have supported the invasion.

The only Russians who get a pass are those few thousand (max) in jail for protesting, the rest have a special place in hell waiting for them.
They either take a stand against evil or they are evil.
No excuses.
Ukrainians are brave enough to stand up against Putin so no excuses.

Tell them to stand up for what is right then.
Actions not words.
Take down their government.
reading the news and saying "oh no" is not enough.
Actions not words.
I'm sure there were many guards at Hitlers concentration camps who were uncomfortable with what was going, are we giving them a free pass also?

It's really the only way; Russia is never going to agree to anything without a guarantee of military neutrality on that border.

Another thing is, Ukraine could actually thrive as a neutral buffer zone between the West and Russia. Both have a strong interest in maintaining that distance. Frankly... if you take politics out of it and focus purely on the safety of civilians... both should pay Ukraine large sums, annually, to take that position.

"Let's Dance" 2022: Russian dancer fined over Ukraine war

"Let's Dance" star Ekaterina Leonova comes from Russia. For this, she is now hostile on the net.

Cologne – Ekaterina Leonova (34) is one of the professionals who celebrated her comeback in this season of "Let's Dance". This time, the 34-year-old can try to win the title of "Dancing Star 2022" with Bastian Bielendorfer. Meanwhile, the native Russian has to deal with completely different difficulties because of her origin and the war in Ukraine.

"Let's Dance" star Ekaterina Leonova: Hostility over Ukraine war
The professional dancer has apparently received numerous hate messages. She has now reacted to this both in a post in her Insta story and in a video published by RTL. In her story, she justified herself as follows: "Yes, I was born in Russia, but I am not responsible for politics in this country."

In addition, Ekaterina explained that her family lives only 300 km from the border and therefore of course she is not well with the situation. Nevertheless, around the war in Ukraine, she called for: "Please stop blaming me for Putin's policies! I am for peace!"

"Let's Dance" star Ekaterina Leonova defends herself against hate comments
In her video statement, the 34-year-old first went into more detail about what kind of comments she has to deal with. Apparently, some viewers were bothered by the fact that she danced "in a short dress in front of the camera" while her "country attacks another". She then justified herself with the fact that it was her job (read more news about Celebrity & TV on RUHR24).

In addition, Ekaterina Leonova explained that this profession "connects many people and also people from many nations". Basically, the successful dancer feels it is "a great pity that you now judge by origin". Finally, the "Let's Dance" star wished for peace on social media and peace between all countries of the world.

"Let's Dance" star Ekaterina Leonova distances herself from Putin's politics
While Ekaterina Leonova has distanced herself from the politics and war of Vladimir Putin (69), this is far from true for all celebrities. A much-discussed counter-example is former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (77). Since he has not yet spoken out against the Russian ruler, Borussia Dortmund, for example, withdrew his honorary membership.

The chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic, Valery Gergiev (68), also did not distance himself despite an ultimatum. Dieter Reiter (63), Lord Mayor of the City of Munich, then drew the consequences and dismissed him without notice.

what the **** poor Ekat i most definitely cannot see her returning to Russia as long as asshole Putin is still in power there

good decision from Borussia Dortmund though since Schroder hasn't said anything if he is against Putin or not

Its about doing whats right, not about doing what is easy.
Russians not standing up for what is right has allowed this situation.
Russia as a whole are responsible for this war.
