I like the way there's always at least two main storylines going on each episode but we also see other characters aswell for maybe like one scene or something e.g. that scene with Fiz and John on Friday. Gives a sense of life going on. Under Kym Crowther on the hand, if you saw Tony e.g. in the first scene, guarantee most of the episode would be about Tony. Huge chunks of the cast would be off screen for months on end. It was terrible. Now, every character plays a part.

Aye, it's like Natasha's story hits Fiz's story as we're reminded they still exist, the street just feels a lot more alive

There's still a few duds though e.g. Julie. Know what's happening with her.

I think Julie is good where she is, she's more of a background character, I like Kirk as Chesney's older brother

The Flintstones also celebrated their 50th yesterday, so the Coronation Stret Blog made this

Corrie have just announced the casting of the driver of the fateful tram that will crash through Coronation Street, as part of the show's spectacular 50th anniversary episodes.

Actor Tom Burroughs has been revealed as the man who will be behind the wheel, when the tram is forced off the rails with devastating consequences.

However, Tom is no stranger to the cobbles, having previously appeared as a nurse in 2007. He has also been in Emmerdale and acted extensively on stage and in theatre.

Our press office revealed that Tom is due to take part in some impressive night shooting and will be working with legendary 'Doctor Who' and 'Corrie' director Graeme Harper, who has plenty of experience filming big explosions!
