Because of their position of privilege they are duty bound to follow certain protocols
More then a few years to be fair. The Aristocracy these days counts for nothing and the Royal Family are a tourist trap and it's the same for the rest of the European Royal Families so why stick to protocals that have no relevance in today's world? Let them marry who they want.

That's a nice little collage of the royal couple, Arista

That awkward moment when Kate Middleton walks up the isle and Harry turns to William and says 'I would'.

When the news is filled day after day with disaster and war, how lovely it was to watch the wedding today and see the Brits do what the Brits do best. I loved the fact that a million people turned up to watch the wedding, there was no trouble, street parties were going on all over the country and everyone reclaimed the Union flag from the bloody BNP. I love it. It reminded me that, although there will always be people who bang on about how this country is a shambles, how bad the police are (in my experience they're bloody marvellous compared to the arrogant a-holes that mostly make up the NYPD) and generally focus on the negative stuff, it was good to have a a reason to remember why it's good to be British and to see so many people celebrating.

I wasn't going to watch it, but was glad I did. It had a nice feel to the day, and even the rain held off. The Wedding was nowhere near how I thought it would be, the young couple made it their special day with a lot of their preferences and touches making it so much more personal to them both but also catering for family, friends, and for the people who turned out to watch, they combined the two so well and everything just worked and had such a beautiful feel to it all. Sometimes a Country needs the street parties and the feelgood factor of such a celebration of a young in love royal couple, against all the usual doom, gloom, and misery in the World.

Question So who WERE those nuns?

Sisters in Reebok trainers who got the best seats in the house

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...e-William.html

Quote:
With two billion people around the world watching, it was two nuns who took pride of place next to the newly married bride and groom.

As William and Kate sang prayers from the specially designed hymn sheets, the two sisters looked on unassumingly.

But despite their demure appearance, rumours even began to surface today that one of the woman was a secret 'ninja nun' intended to protect the Royal couple by pouncing on any intruders. However, it is certain they were merely there for spiritual protection.

Dressed in their traditional habits, comprising of grey tunics, black coifs and two sets of white sleeves, the two nuns sat at the top of Westminster Abbey yesterday.

Both wore spectacles but one of the nuns was significantly taller and sat noticeably more upright than the other grey-haired lady.

Eagle-eyed viewers also noticed that she was wearing black Reebok Classics trainers underneath her traditional outfit.

There were also questions posed over why the two nuns took such a prominent position in the proceedings.
Yeah, I wondered why they were so prominent but did nothing .....

Harry didn't disappoint

Quote:
Prince Harry is said to have partied "like a rock star" at the royal wedding reception.

The evening, which took place in 'The Palace Club' at Buckingham Palace, began with Prince William and Kate Middleton's first dance to a live performance of 'Your Song' from Ellie Goulding.

Prince Charles and Camilla briefly joined them, before leaving to let the younger guests get the party started, according to the News of the World.

"Buckingham Palace has never seen anything like it. It was more like a nightclub than the Queen's house," a source said. "Harry was essentially the host of the evening. He was acting like a rock star and making sure all the girls had a cocktail in hand and all the lads were trying the Sambuca shots.

"He was also getting pretty merry himself. He loves a party and this night was obviously no different. He was even jumping off the stage and dancing on window ledges. At one point he ended up on the shoulders of one of his friends with his shirt unbuttoned."

The newlyweds were also hoisted on the shoulders of their friends for a singalong.

At around 2am, Harry took to the stage and said: "This has been a great night but please respect the family and those upstairs when you leave. And don't wake up the neighbours."

As many guests weren't ready to leave, Harry asked the DJ to play one more song and dedicated Kings of Leon's 'Sex On Fire' to William.

Harry also laid on two vans outside the Palace - one serving bacon sandwiches, the other serving ice cream. Popcorn machines were also dotted around the venue.

Has an awful taste in women though.

Except for his apparent liking of Pippa of course.
