James Arthur has caused outrage after making homophobic slurs in a shocking rap diss.

He branded unknown rapper Micky Worthless a "*******ing queer" after he recorded a song mocking the X Factor winner for being a pop puppet.

In the sickening lyrics, Arthur raps: "You *******ing queer. Hilarious, precarious you Talibani confused, imbellic mimic of a gimmick."

The 25-year-old was angry after newcomer Worthless took a swipe at his credentials for winning the talent competition show.

In the offensive track, Arthur also brags about "making paper" - slang for earning money - and seeing loads of "boobies".

He raps: "You're a terrible rapper, you should shoot yourself."

Arthur mixes Toni Basil's hit Mickey in the song and brags: "I'm a genuine talent, not a brand."

Arthur was blasted by former contestant Lucy Spraggan and comedian Matt Lucas after the diss track spread online.

The Little Britain star wrote: "******* you @JamesArthur23 for using the phrase '*******ing queer' in your latest track. ******* you."

Spraggen quoted the homophobic slur and added "Nice one."

A follower asked her if the tweet was about Arthur and she replied: "Yes, it is."

Adding to another fan: "People kill themselves every day because there's insults like that around.

"It's not something a role model should say. #donthate."

Last night he performed on Children In Need - but stuck with a song off his album instead of singing this offensive drivel.

Arthur has been criticised recently for his stroppy behaviour on Twitter after he attacked boybands and singled out One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson.

He's one of the better winners X Factor has had and I like his material (and on a side note it annoys me that people refuse to listen to or like his stuff because of his attitude, like yeah he's a cock but the two are unrelated) but he needs to stop being ********* because it's going to come back and haunt him otherwise.
