So if taxations pays for pensions who has put most in the pot over the years

Well done to him and his sister, but still not sure what it has to do with "LGBT champion", whatever that is...
Gay acceptance doesn't deserve a special prize, like not robbing or not murdering doesn't deserve a prize. This is what you would expect from people to do... Gay disapproval, on the other hand, is worth a criticism.

Excuse me. The older generation have paid a lifetime of taxes to pay their pension. And a lifetime of national insurance to contribute towards everyones health care. Don't diss my parents and yours.

Private pensions don't stop people claiming a state pension as they paid in for it. Sadly these contributions weren't saved and invested to be paid out when people retire, they were spent - and more- so current taxes paid now pay for current state pensions.

Boomers may have paid in but the money was spent and now with life expectancy increases so the need for certain levels of working population to continue paying. The whole system is not that secure.

I do wonder who raised and parented these terrible millennials that people complain about or is it just that same old generational conflict complained about as far back as the ancient greeks?

People (including me) have run out of CBB discussions for now?

What pension system is secure, even private, Carillion, BHS, Daily Mirror, no guarantees anymore.

How the hell did we get onto pensions

Everyone is equal on here and one persons opinion is just the same as another's point of view, it is called exchange of views, not sticking their oar in as even that applies both ways.
It is sticking your oar in when the pack mentality sets in and others come in the thread, not to contribute to the thread but to discuss another member's personality
and judging who that member should be with as to their perceived right or wrong crowds on here.
I am in no crowd,I am my own person.

4 people, not yourself admittedly did that today.
Just got at me,nothing to do with the thread.
That's sticking your oar in,I can't speak for Cherie as to if she welcomed that or not, however I certainly did not.

No, most of the people you refer to have supported gay HM's in the past if my memory serves me well - the gay HM's that go into the house and are just themselves without feeling the need to bring a soapbox in with them.
I think most of the discussion has come about because of the differing views of Shane J/Ann and Shane J seeming to push his own agenda for votes in the fashionable PC climate of today and using Ann to do it in an underhand way.

As for the 14 yr old that he brought up who would be watching and could be damaged because of Ann? If that 14 yr old were to see Shane J enjoying himself and not giving a fook what anybody thought of him as Courtney, wouldn't that give a more positive, inspiring message than any whining and gossiping about an old lady and her outdated views?

I think how it works though is, the money the older generation paid in, went to pay out the pensions of the people before them. So the older generation will have paid their dues, but its actually the younger generation who will be paying their pensions.

Meanwhile the younger generation is currently paying the older generations pensions, and state pension will probably be abolished by the time they are old enough to get it (or the pension age will be 100 so next to noone will get it, one of the two) so they will be paying in, but getting nothing back.

Thats my understanding of the ****ed up system anyway. I may well be wrong.

Either way the rampant ageism on this forum and elsewhere is quite disgusting. Ageism (and misogyny) seems to be the only form of prejudice thats classed as widely acceptable, and even desirable in some cases

Nobody is trying to paint you as anti-gay. I just at one point thought that I should let you know that you, yourself (and some others) have implied that you are 'anti-gay' by continuously spouting the same ****e in every thread. Take that as you like idc. Pass your blame to elsewhere if you like, I ain't buying it. Others might buy it and accept that you do this because others are PC, but it doesn't work for me. You can take some responsibility for your own words.
