Was he a creep who had inappropriate relationships with underage girls? Yes. Was he a man who deeply cared, was gentle with, and wanted to protect little animals. Also yes. We could go down the whole Michael Jackson rabbit hole as well; I believe he did inappropriate sexual things with young boys. I think the reasons for that are exceptionally complicated, that his mental health was very messy, and that he was also a man who cared deeply about people/the world. The list goes on. And I'm not even comparing Depp and Heard to these people's crimes. I just think he's a man who went too far down the hollywood/drugs rabbit hole starting at a young age and eventually ended up in a violent relationship (and came out of it bitter/jaded). I think Amber heard also went down the same route quite young and it's probably what initially brought them together - and she also ended up angry and bitter. That's what happens in such relationships. "Who started it" doesn't exactly matter and "who pushes whose buttons" matters even less. Having your buttons pressed is NOT any sort of excuse, whatsoever, for lashing out physically... this excuse is made for abusive people constantly and it's not OK. "Well, you must have provoked them..." ... just the wrong way to look at it. On balance the simplest explanation, from all of the voice clips I've heard and messages I've seen, is that Depp got violent first probably with it only happening when he was heavily under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and it declined from there with her eventually deliberately provoking him and also getting physical. This is an extremely common pattern in mutually abusive relationships. The stereotypical image of domestic violence is one dominating abuser and one timid victim but that's not always the case. |

I never said it was an ' excuse ' perse , but if you can quite clearly see someone is struggling with addiction & mental health issues why would you fuel the fire???. Unless you were equally unstable or got some twisted pleasure out of it ? . And I know not everything is black and white ,yes people are complex and they even change . But it sounds like she hates him and wanted to see him break . I don't believe for a second there was genuine love. |

I imagine they both intensely loved and intensely despised each other in equal measure - the text messages between them that have gone around certainly suggest that - and most likely they still do on some level. They would have moved on otherwise and neither of them have... it's a cliché but the line between love and hate is very thin.

That isn't a clip Vanessa, that's someone saying Amber said that in court when there is absolutely no evidence of her doing that and no evidence of her making "an opening statement" I don't understand why, if she said that there's not a single person on the internet who can produce a video clip of it when the whole thing is televised. Not a single newspaper article said she said it either btw, they all say - people on the internet claim she said it

I think the comparison is more about how she's describing Depp , yeah it's not word for word.If she wasn't in a court room ...it could be mistaken for an acting reel .

ffs come off it, she sounds like someone describing a new love interest who is pretty charismatic which I have no doubt is true of Johnny Depp.

Those spreading these rumors appear to be actively searching for evidence to support a belief that they had already decided: that Heard was “acting” during her testimony in the trial. This is an example of confirmation bias in action. For example, we could “prove” that it was Depp, not Heard, who was acting during his testimony by demonstrating that he uttered common phrases also found in movies. At one point in the trial, Depp said he was making a “ludicrous sum of money.” A nearly identical phrase can be heard in “Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story.” At another point, Depp says, “I loved her instantly.” An identical quote appears in the book “American Outlaw” by Jesse James. These are not evidence of Depp or Heard stealing lines from movies to make their testimonies more compelling. These are examples of social media users hearing what they wanted to hear to reinforce their preconceived ideas. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/am...ny-depp-trial/

Are people grasping at straws to compare her quotes exactly to talented Mr Ripley ? Possibly ,but I think it's still fair to say she could be reading a script like Gweneth paltrow in Talented Mr Ripley. Perfect example is when this whole mess started , she was grinning for the media circus ....with her hand in the air like she was waving at a party . whilst Johnny had his hand on his chest and looked more reserved in his face & body language. |

Coping & defence mechanisms maybe? , he's probably laughing as he knows how badly this is affecting his mental health. Sometimes the situation is so humiliating and crazy that you just laugh.
What has he got to be happy about ? his career is well and truly over now. People are saying neither of them will come out of this looking good, as it's such a ugly toxic situation. |
