Day 1 - Launch Night, Friday 23rd May



Davina: "Thought you knew Big Brother? Think again."

(Titles)

After the title sequence, Davina explains how this year's Big Brother is very different to previous year's. She explains how the audition process is far more vigorous and wannabes who think this is an easy platform to fame and fortune are mistaken. Big Brother is back and more evil than ever.

Housemates are now free to discuss nominations and each housemate has their own "personal prize fund" as well as there being an overall winner's prize fund. Housemates can earn money to add to their individual prize funds by completing secret missions set by Big Brother. The public can vote for free on the Big Brother website regarding the details of the secret missions similarly to America's Player on Big Brother USA. This may include flirting with a certain housemate or stealing another housemate's makeup etc. Housemates will also receive money for surviving evictions if they are up. If a housemate voluntarily walks, they will forefeit their individual prize fund. This will hopefully discourage people from walking.

As well as earning money, housemates will lose money for sleeping during the day, tampering or breaking equipment (including microphones) and for generally breaking rules. Certain tasks will also have a risk/reward scheme where housemates can bet money from their pirize funds.

(Davina tours the house)

(Housemates enter)

12 housemates will enter on launch night - 6 males and 6 females.

Davina: "So, the housemates are all in. They can now relax, settle in and get to know eachother - can't they?"

(Davina hands over to Big Brother)

Big Brother instructs all housemates to sit around the dining table.

Big Brother: "Sitting around this table is a spy. This spy is an actor or actress who has been assigned a secret mission by Big Brother, before entering the Big Brother house. Their secret mission is to remain undetected by their fellow housemates. They have been briefed by Big Brother and already knew your names, ages, occupations and history before entering the Big Brother house. Housemates, it is your mission to uncover this spy. Next week, you will be asked to unaminously decide on the housemate you think is the secret spy. If you sucessfully discover the spy, that person will automatically be evicted from the Big Brother house. If you are unsucessfull the spy will remain in the house, eligible to win, and you will never know who that person is. If housemates fail to uncover the spy, all housemates will face eviction next week. The only housemate who will not face the public vote will be the spy, however you will not know who that housemate is. Remember, trust no one."

(Camera returns to Davina)

Davina: "So, there is a spy living in the Big Brother house. Well, that's what they think. What the housemates don't know is that Big Brother is a very good liar. There is no spy. But shhh, the housemates don't need to know that. So, that means whoever the housemates pick as who they think is the spy, they will be wrong. All housemates will definately face eviction next week. Therefore they will believe that the 'spy' will live amongst them undetected for the rest of the series. Brilliant."

Davina then opens the phonelines in a "TO SAVE" public vote.

thts just fantastic. Loving it. Have you tried to send your idea to Big Brother/Channel 4/endemol? - I think this is brilliant and is something that the show needs to get of to an excellent start.

I think it's a good twist to kick off the series because it's not too drastic, like another house or two different sets of housemates (I think theses twists should be introduced later in the series).

Hopefully the twist will have effect throughout the whole series as the housemates will never know who the "spy" is.
