Victor offered a compromise whereby the other privates cover Ahmed's sentry duty should it rain, but Michelle pointed out it was simply unfair.

Sgt. Jason desperately tried to state the importance of completing the task. "If you knew how severe this task was, you'd say 'OK.'"

Ahmed listened to Jason but soon exploded again when Shell opened her mouth.

Dan was getting almost as angry as Ahmed, "You're being selfish!"

"I'm not like you. I'm not grovelling," said Ahmed with renewed fury.

Jason got Ahmed to agree that passing the task was important and resolved to ask Big Brigadier about moving under cover should it rain.

Pt. Ahmed is now placing Jason or Michelle's ambitions and place in the House in jeopardy, and his own.

Still, no one likes getting wet...

Shell shocks herself with her language...

The housemates have been discussing Ahmed's mini-tantrum and have come to the conclusion he's "selfish" and "not a team player."

Immediately after the outburst Shell, who got a real tongue lashing from the Somali, stomped off to the bedroom, where she started to make her bed while muttering to herself.

"What an insolent horrible man," she mumbled.

"What an a***hole."

But her shock at Ahmed's turn didn't stop there.

"What a *******ing a***hole actually. A real *******ing *******ing sh***ing a***hole. So rude to me. So rude," she grumbled, making herself blush with her choice of words.

Minutes later, a vermilion-cheeked Shell retired to the decking for an after-squabble cigarette, where she was clucked over by Michelle, Nadia and Stuart.

"[Ahmed] is a selfish person," Michelle opined. "I don't understand why he's here."

Shell nodded in agreement as Michelle continued.

"He's greedy and he's selfish. He's always talking about food..."

Shell suggested they try to get on with it, but the argument had obviously touched a nerve. "I've worked so hard to get on with [Ahmed]. I've really tried to think positively about him," she said.

Meanwhile inside, Ahmed told Dan he didn't want to sit outside doing Sentry Duty during the task in case he was struck "by thunder" on a stormy night.

And Dan wasn't happy.

"I can't stand it when someone doesn't pull their weight, [Ahmed's] not a team player" he told Shell after Ahmed went into the garden and Shell returned to the kitchen.

"I'm not going to be nice anymore. ******* that!" said Dan.

Oh dear. Let's hope they all kiss and make up soon...

It Never Rains But It Pours!

Private Ahmed lost the plot this afternoon after Big Brigadier interrupted his meal to tell him to give back his suitcase.

Ahmed furiously stomped from the Diary Room, kicking over a plastic box, before picking up his suitcase and slamming it about in a huff.

"They know I like to eat my food warm!" he raged when Dan asked what the problem was.

But then a sour temper led Ahmed to start ranting about the task. He told the troops he would not sit in the rain on sentry duty if required.

"If it's raining I'm not sitting there," he declared.

Shell told him his actions could well affect other housemates - not knowing of course if they fail the task the privates won't be nominated.

"You've got to think about other people," she said.

But Ahmed was having none of it. "There is some limit. The limit is under the rain, I'm not sitting there," he yelled.

Dan upped the ante, suggesting if Ahmed didn't want to do the task he should leave.

"Who are you to suggest I leave?" he yelled. "You don't tell me anything!"

Shell tried to calm things, telling him to go to the Diary Room if he had a problem. That didn't work. Victor tried to calm him. So did Michelle.

Anger Mismanagement

Jason spoke to Big Brigadier about Ahmed's outburst to try and find a resolution to the dissent in the ranks.

Big Brigadier told Jason that sentry duty would not be moved under cover but that troops would be issued with waterproofs, if necessary.

Jason went to tell Ahmed the good news as he sat alone in the garden. He agreed it was acceptable, but he hardly celebrated with a handstand.

"I just came out there angry and people jumped on me," he said.

Jason became the diplomatic senior officer and tried to soothe his charge, telling him he didn't want to be angry all the time he's in the House.

He also prompted Ahmed to have a chat with Shell to smooth the waters after he had shouted at her.

"She can come to me," said an unrepentant Ahmed.

Jason again pressed him to take up a more conciliatory stance.

...but there's fighting talk from Pt. Ahmed

"No, no, no. I respect you, but I'm not doing that. Because I have always been nice to her," he explained.

Jason pointed out that Shell had always been nice to him too and that she was a nice girl.

That wasn't how Ahmed saw her. He wanted Jason to tell him categorically that she had never gossiped about him, nor nominated him. "I don't think you can do that," he said.

So the task has been saved, for the time being, but the rupture between Shell and Ahmed will take some healing...
