This channel is getting a lot of traction, but I've never heard of it. This particular video has 1.1M views and I'm now seeing it cited elsewhere so posting it here so maybe others can give their opinion. Anyway, they've been posting reports out of China related to the trade war... and yeah, it's as devastating as one would expect on many businesses that largely deal in foreign trade. I don't speak Chinese so can't verify anything... but can read bits of it to know context from what I know in Japanese... unfortunately, most of it is blurred

If this continues, Amazon is going to have to be more locally-sourced, so that should be interesting... honestly with the amount of shops filled with cheap plastic goods, it's nauseating to go into shops at times, just from a green perspective. I hate how much waste is created just for all throw away goods that collects in a landfill. Not even that it's cheaply made, but that it's such an afterthought and not worth the time and materials to produce!... seeing quality goods come back even at a higher cost that force people to conserve their spending and not hoarding lots of plastic would be so welcome. The US has so much product like that and I do not like waste.

But then so much good product and ideas come out of China also especially in recent years, so I'd like to see that trend continue. I don't always connect Chinese things with "cheap", anymore. I think it's improved overall.

I hope for a good outcome for both sides, but agree, that things can't continue as they are. US life often just feels like an afterthought due to the ridiculous focus on consumer-ing, and I think it's reflected in the poor way things are being done... from schooling, to how even homes are being built (leaky fiberboard...)... it's like we have accepted our destiny is for the landfill. That's not such a good feeling, either.
