^Yup, and with Gaga, the only interesting thing about her is the way she chooses to dress or express herself. In 10 years time, 5 years time or even 3 years time, people will probably be bored of 'Gaga wears no pants' or 'Gaga wears a chicken suit' because it would have grown boring. If Gaga would have stayed normal and chose not to act the way she does, she probably wouldn't have sold half as many CD's.

Her music is good, I've always enjoyed it but as an artist I can't see her around in years to come.

the GaGa debate is so old these days. We all know she's just a trashy ***** who got lucky and came at the right time. The mention of her 'smashing Britney's status to pieces' is genuinely and utterly hilarious. I like GaGa, her music is fun and catchy and very easy to listen to but there's nothing artistic or revolutionary about it.

She's just taken what lesser known electropop artists having been doing for years and made it a dash more commercial and bam, #1. The only people who truly believe she is some god like artistic force to be reckoned with are her pig ignorant and easily lead fans i.e the Zacs of the world [no offence Zac you just epitomize the average GaGa fan].

No offence to any of these artists but since 1999 there has been Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Ashley Tisdale, Katy Perry to name a few and not a single one off them have managed to overtake Britney in terms of popularity. They are wannabee's compared to Britney.

And Britney has shaved her head, showed her pussy (even on stage, by accident), drove with her children on her lap, been admitted to rehab 3 different times, chrashed her cars, put in a psych ward twice, and rebelled against her famous family. And she still manages to be the most influencel female singer today.

LOL that's total crap. Britney's first record has sold nearly 40 million copies, her second selling nearly 30 million copies and that was by 2005. So by them two records, she has already outsold Christina's five and Beyonce's three. And no1curr about critical acclaim, we aren't talking about critical acclaim. how can you say nobody cares about critical acclaim? its been proven time and time again that sales don't really prove that much in terms of an artists credibility. Britney could release a line of turds and they would sell well, because her name is on them. she is a franchise not and artist. oh my gawsh you're proving my point everytime. the critics said britney would never be back to her old status, but who has broken the record for having five albums all debut at #1, something not even Michael Jackson or Madonna have achieved. Who had a sold out world tour? Who's won lifetime achievement awards? Britney Spears! ^singing. and performing. she sings live at her concerts, with a backing track. the same as 99% of artists, but because it's Britney Spears it's a really huge horrible deal. Christina's done it plenty of times.

Take That lip-synched at the Brits, and Michael Jackson lip-synched most of his performances, but he's a genius.

i'm not saying it's HER fault, but you can't say 'nobody makes pop music like Britney Spears' when she doesn't even make it. That's a statement you'd give to GaGa, Christina, or Patrick Wolf, whom all have a hand in the composition, lyrics, and vocals to all of their songs.

Yes it true,people dont take Britney seriously ever since she shaved her head,[almost]dropped her baby on the street and mimmed on XFactor.
I'm fully aware that GaGa is seen as a lunatic,but thats because she dresses like a lunatic and performs like one,not because she acts like one.
As for the whole art thing,if painting a picture is art then designing clothes is too.
At the end of the day,we are all allowed to have our own opinions on people who put themselves in the public eye and make predictions on how much success they'll have but from where im standing the only people saying "Lady GaGa is just a flash in the pan" are bitter Britney fans who cant stand the fact that GaGa has come along and stolen all of Britney's success or Take That fans who are still annoyed that GaGa didnt show up as the support act for 2 of their concerts.
