I agree
By that logic, there is nothing irrational about questioning islamophobic peoples attitudes and people who defend such attitudes

So stop whining?

Few religions are kind to women, it seems strange to have such a vehement hatred of one in particular when most religions are guilty of misogyny because pretty much all religions are a product of their time.

There is nothing wrong with being anti Islam or any other religion.I'm not a big fan of Scientology for instance.

I don't like the way Hasidic Jews treat their women or the way some versions of Islam repress theirs. I believe Catholic women have put up with centuries of nonsense or the bride burning that still goes on in Hindu societies should be talked about more.

That though, doesn't make me anti Catholic, Islam, Hinduism or Judaism, it just means I'm aware of the repression that can go on within these religions.

Maybe that's why Muslim women wear Burkhas - they or their husbands don't want people to see their miserable faces or their bruises - who knows. Would be a good way of getting away with domestic violence.

Or maybe they made their own choice to wear the burkha. Perhaps underneath that burkha they are wearing nothing other than thigh-highs and sexy undies and sticking their tongues out at every passer by who gapes at them.

Very interesting viewing NM. I was particularly interested in the bit at the end on his comments regarding the large shadow Trump is casting and how that shadow may provide an alternative to a 'no borders or deportation orders' global government. Worrying stuff and certainly food for thought.

Save us from the loony left.

Where is the information that dodgy organisations created this protest movement, you do realise that one man stating this as fact and you believing him is how fake news is spread?...

I love the way the Speaker of the House did that. He just steps up to the mark without further discussion and bing, bang, bosh… Trump now doesn’t have permission to speak in the House of Commons… decision made, job done!

I would suggest that the House of Commons are paying attention to the British public.

Is it edgy or something to hate Donald Trump, compared to other leaders we have hosted he has done nothing yet apart from from honour the policies which people in the USA voted for, maybe our politicians should take a leaf out of his book, instead of promising and not delivering, MTVN made an excellent point, it's easy to jump on bandwagons isn't it Mr Bercow shame you are not consistent in your condemnation

young people are driven by the need to conform, can you imagine one saying that they did not "hate" Trump?

LT finally admitting that he only "supports Trump" because he's desperate to be seen as a non-conformist?

Very, very true. Young people are by nature sheep being herded into the right 'pen' by a more worldly-wise force.

I'm surprised it was even considered, even the queen isn't allowed in there.

Last week they said it
Trump will speak in the Westminster Hall
behind the Chambers,

So the Speaker Of The House
was just getting his own Publicity
as the fool he is
Wasting time
on something not going to happen.

Foreign presidents rarely get to do this. In fact its only Nelson Mandella and one other who have, up until now, been permitted. What has Trump done to earn a voice in the House of Commons? He's merely a few weeks into his job and hasn't yet done anything that Britian would consider notable.

Edited to say: What would he possibly have to say at the British Parliament that he can't tweet?

http://www.politico.eu/article/donal...r-john-bercow/

Visiting foreign leaders occasionally address MPs and members of the House of Lords. To do so is considered a major honor by U.K. lawmakers, and has in recent years been offered to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

When Barack Obama visited in 2011, he addressed both houses in the 900-year-old Westminster Hall, considered an even higher honor. There had been speculation that Trump would be granted a similar honor, after May confirmed in Washington last month that the president had accepted an invitation to make a state visit to Britain later this year.

Bercow’s statement will come as an embarrassment to Prime Minister Theresa May, who has faced criticism for inviting Trump to make a state visit to the U.K. so early in his presidency.
“We value our relationship with the U.S.” Bercow told the House of Commons. “If a state visit takes place that is way beyond and above the pay grade of the speaker. However, as far as this place is concerned I feel very strongly that our opposition to racism and to sexism and our support for equality before the law and an independent judiciary are hugely important considerations in the House of Commons.”

Who else has been so publicly refused?

Reacting to Mr Bercow's statement, Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron said: "This is the right decision by The Speaker.

"The Prime Minister might wish to kowtow to the nasty misogynist that now sits in the Oval Office but no-one else does. We do not want him to speak to us. He is not welcome.

"Speaking within Parliament is a rare honour, the highest honour we can offer.

"In the past, we have hosted speeches from leaders in equality, justice and human rights, from Mandela to Obama to Aung San Suu Kyi. Trump is not fit to shine their shoes."
