The thing which annoys me most is a repeat of A Touch of Frost gets higher ratings.
There is no excuse for the bad ratings last night because there was nothing in which competes for the same audience as BB.

This might be the last series if the ratings fall again.
For the 15.748th time: Channel 4 and Endemol have a contract for Big Brother until 2010.
I couldn't make it clearer.
They don't have to go through with the contract if they think that having more shows wouldn't be financially viable or even if they think there is nothing more to do with the show. Contracts can be ended mutually.

However, I think there will be a BB10 and I personally think it will be All-Stars.
Of course they don't have to. But only if both parts agree. So far, no sign of axing the show.

Well if it can get 3.6m one night and 2.7m the next, it obviously means people can't be bothered to watch. Which relates to my point that not every night will people tune in.

Of course I didn't say the contrary. But the fact people don't bother watching is a problem.
Personally I think it's a bit too late to go back to the old '6 millions'

Maybe we should of had a new eviction process this year or the divide format. Something like that just might have won viewers back.
So far the ratings have been good overall.

Yeah If anything is going to get over 4m it is Alex's eviction but I don't want that to come too soon.

Charleys eviction got an extra 2 million viewers.just say Alexandras does to.then if they show a great HL's right before her eviction then maybe some of those extra 2 million people might decide to start watching, and the earlyier that happens in the series, the better.

When the +1 figures are released, the first show could break the 4m barrier.
It proves that people wanted Mario out because between 9:50-10pm 4.4 million peaked. But as Steph was evicted, only 2.6 million watched. Im guessing lots of people wanted to see Mario gone instead.

The 2nd eviction show also finished 7 minutes before. At 11pm it had 2.7 million viewers but at 11:05 it went wayy down to 900,000!!!

It finished at 11:03 so I understand that so many switched off after it ended. If the last 5 minutes wasnt counted, the average of the interview would of been 3 million.

I couldn't make it clearer.
And I'll say this for the 15.740th time if Endemol think the show is failing (which it is misrably) then they don't have to continue they're contract.

There are shows that get 500,000-1 million that arent getting cancelled on C4. Why should a show getting 2.5-3.8 million viewers get cancelled?

Charley's eviction only got 2 million more viewers because she had been in there for a long time and people had started to hate her more and more. Alex will leave next week and not that many people will care.

Because it is wasting a prime time slot where Channel 4 could have a brand new show which would get alot more viewers and money. No matter how much BB advertise people have given up on it.

Its still quite unlikely getting a show to get 3 million+. They made us think that Dirty Sexy Money was going to be a huge show in the UK and advertised it so much but the ratings have fell to less than 800,000 for the show.

This is an interesting post on DS

Quote:
Total Reach for Thursday Highlights
21.00- C4- 2.92m
22.00- C4+1- 550,000
08.00- C4- 190,000
09.00- C4+1- n/a... but let's assume about 50,000
13.55- E4- 80,000
14.55- E4+1- 30,000
17.55- E4- 90,000
18.55- E4+1- 70,000
= 4.0M
The show is getting 4million or over with repeats, so the show is doing well. If they cut down on the repeats the first viewing ratings would be great

Alot of C4 and other chanels have shows getting like 1 million at the most for ratings, BB IS doing well, last nights eviction show got over all about 4.0 million, including repeats, So BB is not dead, it is one of the most talked about things of the summer as we know because of press interest in newspapers, magazines and the internet, And last night on 8 out of 10 cats it showed that BB had more conversation interest in britain than The Apprentice.

Thats awful!! I didnt watch yesterdays HLs, Im waiting for it to go on demand. I know about 200 regular viewers that didnt watch it.

Im not trying this for an excuse but it was confirmation day yesterday and I was having a party at home and all of my family was round(almost all watch BB, especially cousins) but didnt watch and so were my other friends, none of us watched. I think that may have had an effect, especially seeing as people that have their confirmation are 15-17(regular BB audience).

Im guessing 2.2 million including +1.

Wow... that's bad.... I wonder why it's dipping so much?? I mean, it's a lot better than BB8, but it seems to be getting lower ratings... Big Brother really needs to advertise a big, big twist or something to get back mroe viewers.

I know I only know the tiniest, tiniest, tiniest percentage of viewers, but I actually know quite a lot of people who are watching this year. Big Brother almost always comes into my conversation with people... I don't know how it's not very popular.

*le sigh* Maybe it's because Stephanie's gone, hehe... yes that was to make the voters guilty. Jk.

A rumour on IBB saying that about 500,000-600,000 watched on C4+1 meaning it will go up to 2.3-2.4 million.
