According to several sources, PWTorch has been told that friends and fellow wrestlers have been told that former WWE star Umaga (Eddie Fatu) was found dead today by his wife. Another source says he is hospitalized in grave condition on life support awaiting his family arriving to be with him.

ProWrestling.net has reported that a family member has said reports of his death were premature. Multiple sources say his situation is "extremely serious" and "grave" and that family members are being told to rush to the hospital.

The suspicion is prescription pills is the cause, as Umaga was reportedly found bleeding from his nose and mouth.

We have also learned that WWE will be issuing a statement later today or this weekend once information is released by his family.

Umaga was released from his WWE contract in June after failing WWE's Wellness Policy for the second time. He was on the Hulkamania Tour in Australia that just concluded last weekend.

-------------

-Umaga was just taken off life support according to a source.

Friends of his on WrestleCrap just confirmed he has died. Some twitter :

Lena Yada: "Please Do Not Take Him From Us, It Is Not His Time... I Pray That Miracles Do Really Happen"

Candice Michelle: "My Prayers are with Umaga and his Family!"

Chavo Guerrero: "Hey guys need some prayers for Umaga and his family. Thank u"

Victoria/ Tara: "My heart goes out to Umaga and his family."

Also, "Umaga" is #7 on Twitter's trending topics.

Damn!

I actually rated Umaga as a wrestler as well

he was suprisingly fast for his size and had a good Move set,

People wrote him off initially but he got super over. Shame they pretty much tossed him aside for the most part after his WrestleMania 23 business was done.

He got a fantastic match out of Cena at the 2007 Rumble.

This news is just horrible. I always really rated and liked Umaga, for a big guy he could really move well and I hoped he might even come back to WWE, there had been talk of it recently.

I met him last year as well and he was such a lovely, sweet guy, seemed very genuine.

It doesn't look good, they reporting a prescription pill overdose causing a heart attack. Don't know whether they have turned off the life support and he has now passed on or if he is still hanging in there.

Guess not.....he wouldnt go to rehab when he got released in June.....WWE will make sure everyone knows that they tried to make him go to rehab, he just wouldnt go.

quite sad, maybe this might bring this up again that this is one of the most dangerous sports in the world.....

also Linda McMahon can kiss her seat in the senate goodbye!

This was why so many wrestlers flipped the lid when Vince started cracking down on weed to look good after the Benoit and Guerrero fallout's in recent years. Smoking dope on the road would ease these guys pain at a minimal price as opposed to painkillers.

RVD campaigns for leagalisation of weed, he openly admits to smoking it.....thats probably why WWE wont rehire him on a permanent basis.....

also if he's not someone should tell thepeople on facebook to stop making RIP groups....

No official confirmation yet. Just a matter of time.

I remember back in d'day when half the roster were stoners and every night you were greeted by the likes of Road Dogg, X-Pac and The Godfather.

You would think so but when they don't get given time off when they're burnt out and carrying niggling injuries and are desperate to keep their jobs I can see how it happens. It's that old case scenario of thinking you're in control of it and haven't got a problem I guess. I can't begin to imagine the pain some of those guys must be in on a daily basis.

Vince needs to bloody well wise up and realise that these guys need an off season or at least time off when they say they need it.

These people on Twitter saying that he is dead are really winding me up now. Noone has made a formal statement yet.

Yeah Road Dogg could have had a huge push had he not been fired, NAO were brilliant......billy gunn is a free agent at the moment.....he deserved a huge push in WWE in his time as KOTR and IC champ, i dont see why they didnt do it....

TNA, about to sign Sting back, Flair, Hogan......is RVD next???

Why they didn't do it? Simple. They didn't like Triple H and saw through his political bullshit. Triple H is an incredible performer but man, the guy was a tyrant backstage.

And in the wwe, by god, you can't mouth off against the almighty Triple H.

Good Point. Although ya gotta admit he saw an oppurtunity (Steph's Vagina) and he nailed it so hard he will never be fired and probably win 40 world champinships....

Not forgetting that now Shane is out of the picture it will definitely be Steph and Hunter that will be running the company when Vince finally calls it a day. God help us.

God help us indeed. Shane was always a fan of shoot style hard hitting storylines while Steph always pushed such gems as the Katie Vick fiasco.

Its only Vince left, Linda has left all of her duties now and come Jan 1st Shane is gone........TNA (who by the way are destroying WWE in the UK ratings) looks likely to become the new WCW....

also quick bit.....come January ECW is finished, they're rebranding it as a new show for up and coming talent......hopefully people wont remember the WWE version and just go back ot EC'FN'W!

Vince isn't really doing much and hasn't been for years. His creative team writes the shows. Vince is just the go to guy who puts his stamp of approval on it.

I doubt Shane will go to TNA but are they really beating wwe in the UK ratings? If so that is fantastic news!

Hopefully the new decade will bring a new wrestling war and give Vince a good kick in the balls for eight years of crap. People were saying TNA was going to die every single year since it's inception. Look at it now.

Anything can happen.
