because she's never been as big as britney. and yes she should, and they are the one's that didn't have paparazzi documenting them 24/7.. because if you really think about it, all of them that did it turned sour (ie. Michael Jackson, Lady Diana, Britney Spears).

It was just Christina's way of celebrating her 10 years in the industry, and to give her fans a taste of the fourth studio album.
It depends on your description of success. If by success, you were to compare them on how they've become a well respected, creditable artist throughout the music industry who's music and audience has matured from 10 years ago, then Christina's more successful. If you wanna throw record sales and awards around then yeah, Britney is. Personally, I'd rather be a respected artist than have millions of sales.

&Christina's had collaborations because people WANTED her. The only collaborations that feature on her albums are Dirrty & Can't Hold Us Down and they're only rappers with a single verse. All the others, Car Wash, Tilt Ya Head Back, Lady Marmalade, Tell Me etc, were either for soundtracks or another artist's album. Christina can work alone too, as well as with legends, The Rolling Stones? Andrea Bocelli? Tony Bennet? Elton John? Herbie Hancock? Missy Elliot? P.Diddy? All of them are rock/jazz/pop/soul/hiphop legends, and they've wanted to work with her.

Haha, she's far from respected within the industry. The music industry is about artists. Artists whom contribute to the music, the lyrics, and the recording of all their songs [or the majority of]. And most artists nowadays do. Gone are the days of throwaway pop music. Artists are respected for the talent and effort that go into their records, and if someone like Britney Spears can just turn up to a recording studio, lay down some very rough vocals, let others do all the work and it sell millions, above an act who had been working weeks to compose, write, and record a track; then that must surely tell you that Britney is merely a face, and the real talented artists, are the people who put her records together.

It'd be like having a job, where you work your ****ing ass off every single day, then someone that sits back and relaxes, letting you do all the work, get promoted. You couldn't respect them.

I'm not saying it's her fault, I understand very well that the label may be preventing her from having any creativity or artistry, but that is what's preventing her from being respected.

What is there to respect of someone who's lipsynched most of their life and only had a hand in writing about 22 songs from 6 studio albums, when the industry is FULL of people who contribute to every song they create, and perform it live?

this is getting so old. the sales argument is retarded for SO many reasons. For one logistically of course Britney will have larger sales because she has the double the amount of albums because she doesn't do anything but sing and be editted. Christina and Beyonce [not comparing, they are just the artists at hand] have to write their whole albums and in Christina's case have even more vocal training because her albums are so varied in style and make sure that the tracks are plausible to perform on stage while still maintaining decent live vocals. Britney is a franchise not an artist and in my experience most true fans recognise that and admit that she is not an artist just someone who makes awesome pop music and is a fun face.
