Default BB is manipulating us!!

I just thought I'd share something..

Unless you've had your head in a box we've all known over the years that BB manipulates the during the highlights to make the show more entertaining! It makes sense, it DOES make it more entertaining, creates more controversy and the ratings increase! Everyones happy, apart from maybe the house member who is painted the evil villain, tart or dumber than dumb!

I am interested in everyone else take on the Bea & Kenny argument in the garden. The first time I saw it, it definitely "appeared" that Kenny was being an aggressive idiot and was totally shot down by the calm, cool and innocent Bea! Fair play and everyone seemed to react the same to it in the forum.

I watched it again this morning while eating breakfast and it provoked a completely different reaction in me. This time Bea seemed to deliberately and nastily provoke Kenny by making snyde schoolyard comments who in turn did not seem anywhere near so agressive and loud as before and he also seemed to try to make peace with her really quickly but was snubbed.

This clealy illustrates the power BB has with manipulating the highlights and in turn, us. Why is BB trying to soften Kennys image, is it because they are scared of the "dealing with Bea" rhetoric that Kenny used and wants to diffuse the situation? This is just conjecture.

Whats your thoughts on this incident specifically? How much do you think we are manipulated according to the whims of BB? Does it annoy you or add to the entertainment?

I think Bea was scared to make comments to him on her own but when she was in the garden surrounded by other people she gained courage. She obviously only attacks in a wolf pack.

And Kenny seemed pretty aggressive.

I watched this twice.

I had the same reaction as you, Johnny, to the Kenny/Bea argument - even though I despise Kenny. I thought Bea showed a different side to her - a manipulative side. Not so much 'make love, not war'. Ha! !!

she walked past him to sit at the bus stop and said something to him, after he had had a go in the bedroom to her about her not wanting to be part of the secret task

She definately tried to get a reaction out of him. Then later on in the argument, she said "I have nothing to say to you". Backtracking much? Just a few minutes before she shouted across the garden at him to get his attention. She's a player, no doubt about it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but at least admit it and don't try to act all innocent, as she does. The public's hate for Kenneth made them completely oblivious to this.

I completely disagree. Bea was in no way shape or form attempting to attack Kenneth. I strongly believe that her comment: 'Do you see me as a threat?', was merely a sarcastic joke to start idle banter, but Kenneth took it the wrong way as they've hardly known each other for a day.

Based on what you said, you watched the same argument the next day and felt differently about it right? It seems that all changed was your perception of the events and not the editing of the arguement which proves everyone is free to think what they like about the housemates and big brother is not in fact manipulating us.

Kinda invalidates your post, sorry

edit: In this particular instance, regarding editing and the ability to effectively change events this is interesting

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_jiD...eature=related

Stick with it, it's got aisleyne in it

However if you're looking for opinions about that arguement I think Bea handled it brilliantly. K's not used to being challenged on any level and is living in a bubble of his own ego. The shameless off hand comments about money show that he's nothing but that, money. The sad thing is he would probably consider that a compliment. He tries to use big words (usually in the wrong context) and ends up highlighting his ignorance "furthermore"

She calmly sat back and shot down everything he said, not only did she take the situation out of his control, she disolved his aggression. Intellect over arrogance. In conclusion I shall add this...... but yeah she was a bit of a b*tch about it!

Hi itronik
With respect you kind of missed my point, The reason why my perception of the events changed was purely down to the different editing of the argument. There were comments from Bea that were omitted the first time. Also Kenny was definitely louder the first time. So my point is which is correct version? Its interesting how different editing can completely change a situation and does this happen to the extent that we are in fact manipulated into certain attitudes on housemates?

In my opinion this does happens a lot. Aabouts I said in my initial post "It makes sense, it DOES make it more entertaining, creates more controversy and the ratings increase! Everyones happy, apart from maybe the house member who is painted the evil villain, tart or dumber than dumb"

My point is completely valid and I'm interested in other peoples take on it
