From C4 website
"If there was any sense of comradeship between fellow newbies Tom and Bea, it well and truly evaporated this afternoon. Earlier, Tom told Bea she should be careful about how her blossoming relationship with Halfwit would be perceived on the outside, so a naturally concerned Bea went to ask Halfwit's advice. When Halfwit heard what Tom had said, he challenged Tom, prompting Tom to tear a strip off Bea for repeating him. Are you getting all this? "Don't drop me in the ****," an angry Tom barked at Bea. "I gave you that advice between you and I. It's such ****-stirring ********. You know better than that Bea, don't ******* play me," he added. "Your advice was to not be leading him on," said a confused-looking Bea. "No," snapped Tom, "it was to understand how your relationship with Halfwit will be perceived in the outside world. We both know that Halfwit is a popular guy." "Yes," agreed Bea, "for good reason, because he's a lovely guy." "The reason I gave you the advice is that people on the outside will see a pretty girl coming into the House, a bit bohemian, Halfwit's type and going straight towards Halfwit and creating a relationship really fast," explained Tom. "But that's making it far more sinister than it is, I'm just someone who's got something in common with him," protested Bea. "Shut up and listen a minute," snapped Tom, before going over the same ground again and again, making it clear that he was unhappy about his name being mentioned. But by this point Bea had heard enough. "It seems impossible to talk to anyone about anything in the House without it being exaggerated," she said and left Tom on his own. "******* game player," hissed Tom when she was out of earshot. Hmm. Pot? Kettle?" He tries to create situations to make others look bad, but it backfires badly. I can see Tom getting 4+ nominations. |

I think on the outside world he's not the kind of person to tolerate all the games and bitchiness, he'd just walk away from it all, but is unable to in the house. So now he's calling everything as he sees it.
I think its fair enough to warn Bea about how her relationship could be percieved...judging by the comments on here he's spot on in people's cynicism over Bea and halfwit. Freddie's smitten over Bea so of course he's going to defend anyone who questions her feelings towards him. Bea seems a bit confused as to whether she sees him as a friend or something more. People have criticsed the likes of charlie and sophie for talking to someone and about a housemate, and then going to the housemate that's been talked about to tell them what's been said....that's your call... |

i thought he was awesome last night with marcus, but don't like the way he was with bea
he seems to be in a right bad mood just now. i think he might end up walking. don't think he can handle it in there. he doesn't like the fact that everything that's said and done is over analysed in the house. |

I just think he's a normal kinda fella who doesn't like all the backstabbing and bitchiness. Can relate exactly to how the man is feeling..... I'm going mad about certain people from out here- I can only imagine what it's like inside there.

Oh my god, I was starting to actually like Tom, after reading this, I don't think so! Telling her ;"Shut up and listen a minute," why doesn't he shuttup, hes right about how her relationship with Halfwit could be percieved on the outside, because on this forum everyones saying shes playing him and shes fake.
I think she only likes him as a friend, yeah, and he fancies her, however she said hes not her type physically but his personality could take over that once she knows him a bit better. I really dont think shes only with him because hes a popular HM, they have a lot in common and always have a laugh I dont see peoples problem with her Toms an idiot |

I think Tom just calls things as he sees them.
He has said that he doesn't really care how he's perceived outside the house now, and he's sick of all the drama and bitchiness and fake behaviour in the house, and that he is just going to be blunt about things from now on. And he is following through with that, whether it makes him popular or not. I think he was trying to give Bea a heads up, only the same as what Bea was doing with Noirin last night about what would happen if she now goes after Tom. Same as he was trying to tell Marcus how his constant pursuance of Noirin was making HIM look. I like Tom, I don't believe he really as any agenda, he just calls a spade a spade and that's it, but he does need to be careful how he comes across, he seems to get very frustrated when people don't catch on to what he's trying to say. Telling a woman to repeatedly 'shut up' isn't going to go down well with a lot of people, and he comes across as a bit rude at times. |

i think he was looking out for both bea and freddie here anyway.
he likes them both, but bea HAD to go and tell freddie. fred didn't seem bothered by what tom had to say either, he took it as advice by the sounds of it. |

The reason why he is annoyed is cos she demonstrated exactly how he has perceived her to be. A drama-queen.

He does like Bea, but doesn't allow that fondness for her to cloud his judgement over certain matters. I think it is a bit weird how she gravitated completely over to Freddie- she knew some of the others from auditions. Smells a bit fishy and Tom is allowed to discuss it with her as a friend- don't know why she went running to Freddie.

To be fair Tom had very little sleep, being in the jail until 5.00 this morning. It wasn't right of Bea to run straight to Freddie/Halfwit, when Tom was only trying to help her out

seems like bea cannot think for herself already without support from her perceived soulmate. tom got it pretty much right, freddie is v popular with members of the public. any entanglement with him could be seen by the public as scheming, even if bea is genuine. so tom works thjs out and tells her how it might look and she freaks, tells freddie, who i think is the other haf decent inmate, who challenges tom, who gets upset that a good turn is misconstrued by bea, who is determined to see more to it than there is.

I cannot see what Tom did wrong? He was quite right as far as I can see. Tom's first class in my book.

Tom has never shown any interest in her. Also she repeatedly told Noirin to forget about Tom. Alliterative motive or just helping Noririn out? |

I'm undecided about him.
He does seem a bit snappy and rude at times. Plus he doesn't seem grateful to be there and just moans about people being fake. What the hell did he expect, its Big brother! I just wonder why people like him go in there. Ego? Another box to tick? Chill out and have some fun, FFS. |
