Default Siavash Reckons Oldboy is the greatest film ever. So...

I watched it last night. WOW. What a film. So intense and the twist (as promised) is amazing. Watch it.

Korean cinema is so dark and disturbing. I watched Old Boy a few years ago and found it a chilling experience.

If you are interested in other Korean films, give JSA a try and also Taeguki, a film about two brothers in the Korean War. They are both awesome. Taeguki's war scenes make the start of Saving Private Ryan look like a calm walk on the beach.

I have "Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance" and "Oldboy" but not "Lady Vengeance." Anyone seen the whole trilogy?

In a way. The three films have a thematic link more than anything else. They are not one story. If I remember rightly, Old Boy is the middle of the three.

Funny you said that. The way it started I could have sworn it was a Tarantino film.

Old Boy is a great film, really hooks you. The squid scene is mental, and in reality, had to be filmed twice! EEK!
Also, I know they're not as dark, but they are entertaining - check out the Japanese 'Death Note' films, I and II. Great fun. Film 4 showed them a few months ago and I bought them straight away!

That's why the Vash should win. He's got good taste and seems like a nice guy, easy to get along with - a common quality among all BB winners so far, and no one else in the house comes close this year.
