Makosi will be asked to leave the house, as the agreement for her work visa is with her hospital job. She has quit this job and is now living illegally in the UK.
Big Brother will not replace her, unless it's with Kinga ----------------------------------- This is doing it's rounds. |

It's been around for a while, but having investigated the Visa conditions, it can take 10 weeks for it to start.
Any idea when she quit her Hospital Job? Was it the 2 weeks before she came in. These Home Office rules are very strict |

As a nurse I can assure you that her work visa will be renewed as soon as she applies - there is an acute shortage of trained nurses in this country and sadly we are pinching them from the third world to make up the gap.
Also she is from Zimbabwe, whose ex-pats have been given a moritorium from being deported at the moment due to the alleged brutality of the Mugabe regime towards those returning home. All in all, she is not going anywhere I am sure. |

I don;'t know if I was read properly, but she has QUIT her job as a nurse. Therefore she is no longer a nurse. She is UNEMPLOYED.
She has 10 weeks from quitting to re-apply. House = 5 weeks so far, 2 weeks she was hidden away = 7 She may have quit before then. This is my understanding. Work permits and Visas are another department than what I work in, so not 100% |

Well, she'll need a HSMP most likely, which takes 3-4 months to be granted after application
However, she must apply no earlier than 1 Month before she needs it and no longer than 3 months before she needs it. Her conditions will be set out in her Visa (She must be working, and if she stops working, she has a set time to sort our further employment and re-apply) If the employment for which the work permit was issued ceases prematurely, or a person admitted as a work permit/Visa holder does not take up the employment for which the work permit was issued, the person may be deemed to no longer meet the requirement of the Immigration Rules under which he/she was admitted and action may be taken to curtail their stay, and the stay of any dependants, in the United Kingdom. Where employment ceases, the conditions attached to any remaining leave to remain will not confer permission to remain for the purpose of seeking alternative employment. If the person has found alternative employment, we may consider a work permit application from the new employer but may not grant further leave to remain in the UK unless it is satisfied that the individual has taken steps to find new employment as quickly as possible. |

We have a specialist immigration unit in work and they have basically said the same as inthehood said above. If she has quit her job and not got new employment, she is arguably in breach of her leave conditions and could be deported. Somebody mentioned she could be ok if she was on a student visa rather than a work permit, but I don't know if she is and the fact that she was working means she probably isn't on a student visa.
It'll be interesting to see if the Home Office do try to forcibly remove her from the house. |

I think, as Romantic Old Bird says, and as indeed Andrew Marr, BBC's political expert says, no-one is being deported to Zimbabwe right now.
Saying that, it doesn't mean anyone can roam freely in the UK. She may be asked to leave the house pending further investigation. The home office can act when they like. I don't think it will happen, but I would not rule it out. |

The story is a rumour.
However, the Immigration facts are exactly that, facts. It all depends when she quit, cos her 14 weeks could be up very soon! |

I think it would political a bad move to insist that big brother removed someone from the house especially if they face being deported to Zimbabwe at the moment given the hunger strikes going on in detention centers around the country.
I just can't see it happening! I suggest that people that feel removing from the house is the wrong thing to should write to their MP. You don't have to write a actual letter just a nice worded e-mail and include your address of course so they can write back with there answer. |

Makosi would have no issues in Zimbabwe anyway, considering she's met Mugabe and was dating one of his nephews and knows Mugabe reasonably well.
She won't be deported. She may however be removed from the house, should Home Office officials deem she has a case to answer. They won't care about a TV game show |

Home Office won't care but there political masters will.... they might have just won an election but can you really see them wanting to get involved in a high profile program which is viewed on the whole by people under 30. After all those are the votes they are really after for the next election.
