From the official site:
Emails are being circulated guaranteeing free holidays, free trainers, even free sex - if you would only phone this number... Except that the phone number in question is actually a Big Brother eviction number and, instead of entering for the prize scoop, you're accidentally voting for one of the housemates to leave the House. Have you seen a scam? Send it to us at bb3webeditors@bigbrother.endemoluk.com and put SCAMWATCH in the subject line. Just today we received an email with a scam currently doing the rounds: "As a result of England going through to the quarter finals, Carling are giving away beer and a St Georges flag to the first 10,000 people to call this number..." No surprise to learn that the number given is actually the number to evict Jonny from the Big Brother House this evening. But as with all scams, there is a fatal flaw that might give the game away - England haven't yet reached the quarter finals in the World Cup! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Be on your guard, folks! How awful these scams are - it makes it hard to know if the eviction results are really genuine or not. I really hope this latest one isn't successful and that Jonny isn't evicted because of it. |

The difference in votes at evictions is usually measured in hundreds of thousands, so it's unlikely that these scams would make any real difference.
And I don't think that many people will be duped into phoning a premium rate number when something is being offered 'free'. The producers display this information on the website, mainly because they don't want people phoning their numbers as the result of being deceived, not because they think that the result will be affected. Although this would not have been the case last week, that was an exceptionally close result. |

Its so sad that ppl could take their time to do this just to see an evictee out of the house.
I hope it doesnt make a difference but there was one going around last year for Bubble and Naz and they were both evicted so ya never know......... |

As for Jonny and the scam, well, goodness knows what the vote would have been without it then! Very little different I suspect! |
